Absolutely fuming. I really don't need this hassle! And I'm very peeved at the so called Cheap Energy Club, and MSE in general: there is nothing yet on this website to warn people, just that one article saying they've put their prices up by 40%. Nothing about this extremely dodgy (and possibly unlawful) and underhand things like reinstating DDs. At the top of the MSE website it says "saving you money, fighting your corner" - well it definitely isn't doing either of those things for us at the moment.0 -
I switched on October 1st and had nothing but trouble, they have incorrect meter readings as my opening readings and have claimed my old supplier is disputing them. I phoned my old supplier and they are not disputing.
Consequently oftm have increased dd from £85 too £152 a month. I wanted them to reduce but they said they would ask the finance department.
I’m cancelling my DD as I’m not getting any sense out of them , I am owed credit from old supplier but won’t receive it until oftm accept the meter readings.
I am paying for energy twice as my opening readings are wrong and thus my dd has doubled because of the false readings.
I am going to swap to a fixed tariff which may be more expensive but I don’t care as these are useless, couldn’t organise a bun fight in a bakery.
How do I complain to ofgem as I’m owed money and being treat like an idiot0 -

Thoothless wonders that they are!
Not fit for purpose.
Doubt it won’t be long before they stop oftm from taking on any more new customers, if they persist.
But, knowing Ofgems reputation, they will procrastinate a long time, before doing so .0 -

Have a read of this blog on opening readings:

The gaining supplier manages the transfer of a supply. This includes getting the meter readings that you provided independently verified by a data collector. These readings have to be used by both suppliers to open and close your accounts. Either supplier can raise what is known as an Agreed Readings Dispute however Ofgem has set the following dispute limits:
If the difference between the readings that you provided and the industry estimate is greater than 1200kWhs for gas and 250kWhs for electricity then an ARD can be initiated. If these limits have not been breached, then both suppliers have to accept the industry-verified readings.
You cannot complain to Ofgem. You have to follow the supplier's complaints procedure and then wait for 8 weeks or deadlock before escalating the complaint to The Energy Ombudsman for resolution. This could take up to a further 6 to 8 weeks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thing is my closing electric were 60113 with my old supplier, my opening with these muppets is 5700, gas is poles apart as well. I was going to try and sort out these readings before I swapped again but I don’t trust them so I’m off, sick of phoning them and being fed bull crap0 -
Interestingly I thins it OFTM that will have the bill shock when they comes to repay the credit in the spring.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

It's a shame the cheap energy club doesn't show my tariff - Zapp December.
But if it means paying a bit more, I don't mind transferring to another provider.0 -
Still waiting for OFTM reply to my email sent Sunday evening 18 Nov to mr@outfoxthemarket.co.uk
Anyone had a reply yet to email ?0 -
There's an article in the Mail online money section about small energy suppliers 'As many as one in ten small energy suppliers face a battle to survive the winter after struggling to pay their green taxes', I wonder if that's the reasoning behind this catastrophic business decision to mess with customers finances especially at this time of the year with no choice and no way to stop them taking your money and with only 10 days notice, considering it takes around 21 days to switch, they'll have one month of your hard earned which they'll then have to refund together with any balance you have on account with them, I suppose it depends how many customers they've 'upset' as to whether they end up with a cashflow problem that finishes them off.0
