How long has he been taking NSAIDs for? They're right so and sos for beggaring up your stomach (3 doses and I was puking - just before I suddenly became allergic to all of the blasted things, complete with burning, blistering hands). Put long term use of them and something that can cause nausea together and it's not going to be pleasant.

They gave me an ulcer! I can't take them as I cannot eat enough to protect my stomach from their toxicity. Previous to the ulcer they cause bad stomach pains and nausea.. evil things!

  • Hi all

Sort of working to my own lists this week. Up at 6.15am, chilli in SC, off to gym, straight to work, 7 hrs paid stuff, home to run hoover through, dish up chilli, put dog bedding in wash and tidy around.

Found that DW was sitting full of dirty pots so switched that on and will fill it up again and finish kitchen later.

So now its feet up and a glass of wine.

Well everyone is different. He stopped oral mtx about 4-5 months ago and started the hydroxyquinone. About 1-2 months ago the joint pain started to return, so he would take the occasional ibuprofen; no more than 1 tablet per day. That worked well and had no discernible side effects. However at the next check-up, clearly he had to report that the hq was not managing the pain hence the injectable mtx being prescribed. Ibuprofen is certainly my nsaid of choice for headache, tooth pain etc and I've never had any side effects. In my day all the warnings were about aspirin (I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 18yrs - granted my degree was many years ago!).

Today hasn't been very fly-like in the cleaning front:
    gym classes x 2
    report writing
    various bank organisation, bill paying
various other time-consuming but necessary admin jobs.
Had a phone call to say my car is mended so I can collect it tomorrow.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

If you go into Morrisons (may well apply to other supermarkets...) and buy 15 boxes each containing eight selection boxes (ie 120 selection boxes) EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER WILL COMMENT AND/OR ASK YOU WHY :rotfl:
You lot can probably work it out :rotfl:
Have managed to haul 9 boxes of 8 indoors...
By some miracle I was half a pound lighter at SW and I have been sent a text of a baby scan...by my nephew.:D:D:D

And the item I tried to order this morning came back in stock so it's been ordered and I have arranged to pick it up at a M&S 'kind of' en route home from work and easy to park at!

    Morning,

I was mia yesterday, but no excuses today. Until I get desperate, of course, then they will rapidly appear.
This morning I have taken DH to the station to get the early train to the Big City. He says it is a meeting, but I think it's a jolly with a good lunch. DD has presumably made the school bus by the skin of her teeth. WM is now running, and it is blue skies and chilly outside. Hopefully the towels will dry on the line.

I need to catch up on the lists, but I also want to paint over the plaster on the landing. As the wall was plastered about 5 years ago, I think there is no danger that it hasn't dried out yet....actually it is a small step towards reclaiming the hovel (thanks, HB :D).

Recently I bought 40 tins of tomatoes in Mr M....everybody commented, but bizzarely to say how many children I must have...like I would feed them only tinned tomatoes??! Just for the record, it was to make a couple of massive vats of chilli for a party!

Have a good day, everyone. Gentle hugs to LW. X

    Morning

Yesterday it was mum's funeral. Lots of people came; I read my poem and people didn't know whether to laugh, cry or applaud; I was fine until I saw my friend, Lorna, approach after the service... and then I crumpled and wept. Poor Lorna - she doesn't usually have that affect on me! Pulled up my big girl's knickers and was fine again after that. Lots of love and laughter at the pub/ wake/ thingy afterwards. Then I walked home through the village carrying a plate of cake (:money:).

Lasting memory of the day - the hearse (and us following) going through a red light  DS pointed out later that it's probably best if hearses don't brake sharply!!!

And so, today is a new day. My house looks as though several bombs have gone off (rather than the usual solitary bomb). A work colleague visited for the first time and thought I'd just decorated and that was why everything was in disarray. I didn't disillusion her :rotfl: (I decorated in 2011 ) The  to this story is that I invited her in knowing the house was a more spectacular tip than ever …. and (a) the world didn't end and (b) she is not now avoiding me :D

Dentist's appointment for a check up scheduled for 10.30. I'll pop and see Dad on the way home. Promised DS I'd take him out for lunch today - if he's not too hungover! (He literally drowned his sorrows yesterday, bless him!)

I think I'll calendar and bujo each morning and post what I've achieved in the evening - rather than write myself a flying 'to do' list and then feel bad/ fall off the wagon if it all goes skew-shiff.

    Sounds like a plan :D

Sorry to hear so many of you are going through difficult / nightmarish times. Much love to you all.
