Butterfly it might be easier to do it the other way round - ie 30 items on day 1, 29 items on day 2 etc as there will be more to get rid of at first!0

Good morning everyone.
Hope you all had a lovely time and lots of champagne moments.....:D
I see some of you are already thinking about decluttering. I shall be joining you soon. Despite a couple of attempts in the past few years I still have waaaay too much stuff.
From now on my life is to be about quality, not quantity. Going to get rid of the dross and live a life of pared down elegant perfection. :rotfl:
But for today, easy does it.0 -
We got a lot of food items this Christmas - just need to store these until we get round to eating them!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Yesterday was ok.I went to my Sis in Laws for a bit , total chaos with the new PlayStation blaring out, n kids transfixed to it :rotfl: Two hours was enough for me, then I came back n chilled out with the pooches.Had loads of snacky bits in front of the tv , n watched the Torvill n Dean film which was quite good
Am off to Mum's for a bit today, then It's all over for another year :j

Hello Everyone....how are we doing. All back to normal??? :rotfl:
Well yesterday I decided to work out my new budget.:rotfl: January looks rather tight but after that (hopefully) things should start to improve. Car MOT due 24Th January, other than that it doesn't look too bad. That's the only "unknown".
Anyhoo......I shall be living frugally, hopefully cutting back wherever possible and also looking at ways to increase my income. I've joined the make £2019 in 2019 challenge to spur me on.
I will not be buying "stuff" in the sales.
I also hereby declare that I will not be buying any clothes for the next six months (unless it's an amazing charity shop bargain). In fact I intend to cut out all spending other than the essentials such as food, petrol, routine haircuts etc. The exception will be paint and diy materials and entertainment.
On the entertainment front I have bought a groupon voucher for salsa dance lessons, £10 for 10 lessons. Bargain. I paid by PayPal using a £9.30 credit I had in my account so in fact I have only paid £0.70 in actual cash. Even better. :rotfl: I have also paid for my ticket for the Andr! Rieu concert in advance. So, I already Have some nice treats and frugal fun for January in hand.
How much I get out and about in the next couple of months will depend on the weather. So far it's been quite mild here but if the remainder of the winter turns out to be horrible than I am quite happy hibernating till Spring.. I have plenty to do and plenty to keep me occupied and amused, including a massive declutter. I might make a start on some cupboards today.
Looking forward to my challenge.0 -
I just cannot get on to groupon. Every time I try it enrolls me in the American site and I get great offers from Macy's etc.
I use a .co.uk address of course, to no avail.
Anyway, after two days of indulging myself, it's a fast day today and 500 calls.
May pop to the sales, as I need a dress for the posh lunch at the end of January.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Up date - not going to sales. I have tried on the beautiful suit I bought in Macy's in Tampa for a wedding in 2010. The trousers are much too big for me now, but the cam idol top and jacket are great.

Good morning,
I have come out from lurking behind the arras after catching up with the latest posts. I am hoping to have more champagne moments in 2019, even if the lemonade is value brand or just water. It is often the small things that make all the difference to how you feel about your world. I have already picked up some tips from posters on here, and hope you will allow me to contribute and learn from each other. OMG, that sounds a bit pompous, I just want to enjoy life!!Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0 -

Would it be worth getting the trousers altered? A good dressmaker could make them perfect for you and it sounds like the sort of outfit that would be worth the investment.0 -

Hiya.....not pompous at all....that's why I started the thread......so I could shamelessly pick everyone's brains. :rotfl:
Spent a happy couple of hours sorting out some drawers. Filled a black bin liner full for the chazzer. Now going to sit and sort out my make up and my costume jewellery. I'll take photos of my newest jewellery acquisitions......always handy to show the insurance loss adjuster in case of theft or loss as proof of ownership if you haven't kept receipts.
Then I am going to sort out my new diary ready for next year. Easy plain simple dinner.....spag Bol. Then a manicure and pedicure. A bit of pampering......;)0
