Definitely add Homeschooler to your CV Suki.....another string to your bow. Lol.Golden oldie films on the tv...
On Thursday I watched Contagion.....yep about a global pandemic which starts in a wet market in China........remarkably prescient....😱 And right now I'm watching Day After Tomorrow, about the devastating effects of a dramatic climate shift due to global warming. I do love a good disaster movie. 😂.Also been catching up with Mark Kermodes Series, Secrets of the Cinema, Ian Hislops Olden Days and some property !!!!!!........ £100k House Tricks of Trade - achingly trendy architect Piers Taylor and various designers transform sad tired unloved houses into dream homes.Might start Peaky Blinders next week.
Lovely champagne moment today......face timing my family, my grandson waving and blowing kisses. He was so excited to see his "Babon". (Grandma)🤣😂.Hope you are all staying safe and well.11 -
good afternoon my lovely friends......
Spent a pleasant And very productive morning sorted out my sewing boxes and my " box of tricks". Small diy bits and bobs, screws, nails etc....all ship shape now. Very satisfying. 😂. Using lockdown to get a grip with all those niggly little jobs that normally languish and never get done.champagne moment.....my youngest son dropped by to pick up some paint (not only have he and his girl copied my colour scheme, they are even nabbing my paint). I suppose I should feel flattered they like my colour choices and like my style. 😂. Anyway he presented me with a box of posh chocolate truffles.......so I forgive him. 🤪.8 -

Good morning my lovely friends. How are we all, it's very quiet on here. I do hope you aren't wallowing in despair and misery. We need to keep those champagne moments flowing - now more than ever.Well I went into self isolation a Few days before official lockdown. I'm now on Day 17. And do you know what.....it ain't that bad. I'm still sane, I think.😂. Haven't gone gaga yet.....but if I had, how would I know🤔😂. Anyhoo I feel just fine, staying happy, positive and focussed.
Champagne moments? .....Well they have all been of the quiet domestic variety, enjoying my comfortable home, Pottering about the garden, experimenting with new recipes, Watching films and a few TV documentaries, reading, upping the personal care. Staying in touch with family and friends via the magic of modern technology.I am studiously avoiding becoming a news junkie and am giving a wide berth to some of the paranoia we see on social media. Who needs all that negativity. This weeks task has been sorting out my photographs. Have gone about as far as I can go for now because I need to buy some more photo albums once we can go out and shop properly. Next week I shall be Marie Kondoing again.Hope you are all well and taking good care of yourselves and your loved ones.Stay safe.

Glad to hear self isolation is not having an adverse effect on your well-being, LL/Helen
I'm convinced that being able to get out into our gardens/outdoor spaces is essential in such times so I am truly thankful that right now - where I am, at least - the weather is conducive to this!
Champagne moments here have been similar - time spent pottering outside (clearing an overgrown area to make space for some new - as yet unpurchased - seating where of an evening we can use the half-price fire pit we bought last September, plus general weeding and planting). The weeding often has to be done in a prone position as kneeling is painful right now but I need to pull my weight and not be totally reliant on DH who is busy enough without me asking for help, lol! Still, despite looking an obvious idiot during the process, the end result is definitely worth it
I'm expecting a delivery of shrubs and perennials this afternoon - trying to do my bit to keep our local nurseries/growers in business. This one is about twenty-three miles away so too far to drive for 'non-essentials' right now - although whether they are indeed non-essential is a matter of debate, imho as I'm a firm believer that gardening can keep you sane.......
This morning's champagne moment - sitting on the terrace with a slice of homemade raspberry and coconut cake, admiring the way our wilderness is finally *starting* to take shape after two years of hard graft.
Stay safe and well everyone......

Lol I'm another one who weeds in the prone position. You are definitely right about how having a garden helps us through this. I tend to practically live in the garden in the summer and if this need to isolate continues then I will definitely be spending even more time out there. I have been. I have been mulling over the idea of having a little summer house and I think I might just use some of FILs generous bequest and treat myself.I will get it wired up so I can have light and heat and that can be a cosy little study/office. Perfect place To write that best selling novel. 😉🤣I have bought myself one of those gizmos you attach to a drill to break up the heavy soil, so hopefully I can manage to do some planting myself. Still a bit chilly for me yet though.....I'm definitely a fair weather gardener. Hopefully it will start warming soon, The forecast looks promising.I can't understand why nurseries and garden centres have been shut down.....ok I get closing the cafes, furniture sections etc and although I would love a jaquizzi , it's not my top priority right now. 🤣. I would have thought they would be encouraging us to "Dig for Victory" - getting us to grow some fruit and veg to help with food security.10
