Wow, sounds fab Mrs Slapshot.
My show got postponed today. Grrr. So I am just spending the day at home instead. We can go and see the film when the show gets put back on. Hopefully it won't be too long but who knows at this point what will happen with the virus!

Good good morning my lovely friends....
wednesday......indeed who knows. I have had a few things cancelled too. Plus I have also decided to cancel some engagements myself. Definitely going to avoid public transport etc. I'm lucky though I don't have to go out to work so I can choose to practice "social distancing".
Its trying to find a balance.... not scare ourselves silly by getting caught up in the scaremongering and paranoia whilst at the same time trying to be sensible and not take silly risks.
At any rate I think my champagne moments are going to be mainly of the home grown variety for a while. Try and put my time to good use.....today it's house cleaning and some cupboard sorting. There's a lot to do so just going to tackle a bit each day.
Anyhoo.....Back on the WW. Lost 1lb already. 😂10 -

Well done on the weight loss as well LL.
My two new April magazines arrived yesterday. I had completely forgotten I ordered a subscription so that was a nice champagne moment.
I just made a delicious veggie roast dinner for myself. My husband was in bed as he is about to start working nights so he didn't have any.
I was going to say that I have a gig this week to look forward to but I'm really not sure if it will go ahead now!2025 GOALS

Good morning my lovely friends.Well how are we all, are we managing to find some champagne moments amongst all the doom and gloom.Obviously life is going to change. I have been thinking and planning for self isolation and am determined to keep my spirits up. Fortunately spring is on its way so we can still get outside, spending time in our gardens, going out for walks in the park or on the beach if you are lucky enough to live by the coast.So.....yesterday's champagne moments for me was a walk in the sunshine and then pottering about in the garden..,gave the lawn its first cut. Then a nice evening watching a film.....
I have cancelled all my proposed outings and I'm pretty well stocked up, not just food but also paint, diy materials, books etc. I'm determined to use this period of social distancing productively, aiming to keep busy, stay focussed and be happy.Good luck everyone.6 -
I have everything crossed that my much anticipated champagne moment will actually happen today.....
After two stalled attempts, I think DH will finally be discharged from hospital today, after 28 days, and still with the foot we feared he would have to lose.
After weeks of spending two and a half hours a day on a bus going to/from the hospital, I am sad to say I am really looking forward to having to stay home. And after ten days on a ward without the chance to sleep properly, he is too. (The other men in his bay were very unsettled and confused at night).
Thank God for the NHS.

I have to say, I am actually feeling a lot less stressed than yesterday now we have been given some fairly clear advice about the virus as I think it was the uncertainty that was making me feel very anxious!
I have decided to self-isolate/social distance as much as possible. I will maybe go to my upcoming mental health appointments if I think they will be safe. My psychologist hasn't called me yet so I might call and ask what procedure they are following now. The appointments with her are within walking distance and I still feel safe to walk around as long as I am not brushing up against strangers on the street!
I am going to try and avoid London transport completely and probably stop any little shopping trips that I don't need to do like chazzer shopping etc...
I am going to try and be less wasteful with food and toiletries. I used to be very frugal when we were in debt and had a mortgage so I remember a lot of the tips. I just went and filled my cleaning spray bottles up with water to make them last longer and I have done the same with the half empty carton of oat milk. I know I don't notice the difference in taste personally if it is watered down.
With much more time at home I think this might be a good time for me to read the masses of books I have as well as catch up on all the shows I have recorded as well as listen to my usual podcasts and YouTube. At least the weather seems brighter and the clocks are going forward soon.
Champagne moments today will be a hot shower, reading a magazine with a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea and catching up with The Real Housewives of Atlanta show.
Take care everyone.x

Champagne moments over the past few days mainly comprised spending time out of doors enjoying some rare spells of sunshine
Not that I can afford to relax, lol, as there's loads of weeding, digging and planting to get done. So mostly on my knees in the mud (well, actually on a kneeler, but you get my drift!), but at least the sun was on my back gently warming it which was wonderful!
Also, making my own quiches from scratch for the first time!
Raining again today which is just as well as my knees/back couldn't cope with another session just yetGoing to spend the afternoon emailing old friends and reading more of Hilary Mantel's ''The Mirror and The Light".
Another champagne moment was reading your lovely comments about our kitchen - thank you so much for brightening my dayMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Hello my lovely friends.....
Champagne moment yesterday.....my best friend of 50 years dropping by with a bunch of daffs and cream cakes. We normally meet up for lunch or coffee somewhere but seeing as cafes and restaurants are no go areas at the moment we created our own "posh afternoon tea" here. Lovely time reminiscing and putting the world to rights.Champagne moment today. Well today I decided on a new plan to overcome any feelings of isolation whilst trying to stay out of harms way. I am going to phone a friend every day......not ones who I see regularly but those who I haven't been in touch with for a while. You know the ones, we send them a Christmas card saying "we must catch up" but somehow we let life get in the way and never get round to it. Instead we make do with "liking" their posts on Facebook or maybe adding the odd comment or sending an amusing meme.
So, I thought, life isn't going to get in the way now is it.😂. So I picked up the phone and rang a friend I hadnt spoken to properly in a long while. She was delighted and we had a lovely long chat. Tomorrow I shall ring someone else and someone else the day after, and the day after that. Those I can't ring I will write to. A proper hand written letter. I always think it is such a pleasure to receive a hand written letter.Letter writing is a dying art. Perhaps it's a good time to revive it......and a phone call is so much nicer than a text or a Facebook like - don't you think? 😉8
