My Champagne moment yesterday was using another of my Groupon Odeon codes to go and watch the film The Invisible man at Streatham Odeon.
Odeon says ….
Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy and brilliant scientist, Cecilia Kass escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding, aided by her sister, their childhood friend and his teenage daughter.
But when Cecilia's abusive ex commits suicide and leaves her a generous portion of his vast fortune, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of eerie coincidences turns lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia's sanity begins to unravel as she desperately tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
This was a great thriller with a few twists and turns in the plot. It kept me fully engaged throughout the whole film and gave me a few shocks. I woudl give this film 9.5/10

helensbiggestfan said:Wednesday - sorry to hear your medication is making you gain weight. Such a shame, you did so well to lose it. Will it stabilise do you think. But yes, good idea to try to make the best of yourself so it doesn't drag you down too much. I have regained roughly half a stone....no real excuse. I won't be able to do much about it next week whilst I'm away but I'm aiming to get back on track when I get back. Hopefully now that spring is on its way it will be easier.
I'm wearing my "new" charity shop bird print dress today and my new phoenix silver necklace. I have got my new scented candle, sweeties and new shawl being delivered today as well.
I have just had a slice of vegan cake with a cup of green tea as well.
Sugarbaby - that film sounds good,7 -
Good morning my lovely friends.
Champagne moments so far - I am enjoying a few champagne moments on my train journey, nice warm carriage, comfortable seats, complimentary food, and wi fi. Just sitting back enjoying the view, reading, people watching.
I might even have to indulge in a glass of something with my lunch later, .....12 -

My Champagne moments yesterday was going to Poet's Corner at the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, then going from there to Karaoke in Herne Hill.
I only just discovered that there was a local Poet's Corner held every week in the Black Cultural Archives building in Brixton, so I decided to find out what it was all about for myself. I took along my poem Black Man Thing to perform and it went down a storm. I was really pleased and gratified at how much this new audience loved my poem. There were a number of poets, young and old who were brave enough to share their poetry with the audience.
There were also audience members that preferred just to listen to the other people performing.
I went to Karaoke and I had a really great evening. When I arrived there were enough people to give the wine bar a really good vibe.I sang 4 of my usual songs:
1. Hurts So Good by Susan Cadogan
2. Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Andy Williams
3. Fever by Peggy Lee
4. Return To Sender by Elvis

I really like my new burgundy and black shawl. It has a peacock pattern on it. I have been using it as a wrap when I'm watching TV in the evenings and I'm going to wear it out to the concert tonight.
I'm so happy that it is a nice, sunny day today as well. The constant heavy rain and cold was bringing me down!

My Champagne moment today was going to watch the film Military Wives at Streatham Odeon. I used one of my Groupon Odeon codes to book my ticket, so it only cost me £4.75 instead of £13.25.
ODEON says...
The inspirational story of friendship, love, and support on the home front. A group of women come together as their partners serve in Afghanistan. Together they form the very first military wives choir, helping each other through some of life's most difficult moments and also becoming a media sensation and global movement in the process.
Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) directs Oscar Nominee and BAFTA Winner Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour) and BAFTA Nominee Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) in this feel good crowd-pleaser.
I really enjoyed watching this film, even though it made me feel so many emotions and even had me in tears at one point. I give this filmas it is such an honest depiction of what life is like for a Military wife and the singing and music is such fun.
I have moved on from being a British Army wife for 8 years of my life in my past, but this film took me right back there. In 6 years my husband had 4 postings, the 1st in Woolwich then 3 postings which were in West Germany (the Berlin wall still existed then). I had forgotten the frustration I experienced as an Army wife of never being allowed to have a separate identity.
