    Good morning,

Just saying hi, as I have not kept up since going back to work.

I have read back a little. I am envious of you both, LL and Mrs S. I am always thinking about ideas for a little business, but never take it any further, as DH and I are not risk takers.

It was a nice day yesterday. Bright and sunny, but cold.

We have made some progress with the latest project. Cleared some clutter, and moved some furniture.

I have sold some more stuff on EBay :j

Champagne moment on Friday was going out for our 28th wedding anniversary. Used a BuyaGift voucher for 3 course meal with sparkling wine. :D

Champagne moment yesterday, was buying Lidl own version of Baileys to try. Not quite as nice, but 1/4 of the price :rotfl: we can put it in coffee and hot chocolate as a treat :p

Why are my champagne moments always alcohol related? :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day :)

    Good morning everyone...

Another beautiful morning here. I love these bright crisp winter days. I don't mind the cold. I just love to see a blue sky. Days like this make me feel energised.

SUgarbaby......oh no. How awful, you really are in the wars. Hope you pick up soon. Look after yourself.

Candy.....I have only tried Air B@B once. A luxury apartment in a prime location in Barcelona. It was fantastic and a lot cheaper than a hotel. Tbh I prefer the flexibility of self catering and the freedom it offers. I would definitely go for it again.

happy Anniversary House Elf - sounds lovely.

Mrs S......any news on the dating.???:rotfl:

Not dating .....but I have decided it's time to get out and about again with the Meet Up groups. Only a coffee/breakfast thing on Tuesday coming but it's a start.......I do tend to be a bit of a hermit on these dark winter nights but spring is just round the corner. Time to start stepping out. Who knows who I might meet. :rotfl: (ever the optimist).

Champagne moments today will be my DS2 and his girl coming for lunch, whilst he's here he will help me hang some paintings and mirrors.

Then next week it's time to contact the joiner and the decorator.....make a start on the kitchen. It's a big job and ideally I want it finished by the end of April.

Life is good and I'm raring to go......:rotfl:
  • Morning all - I am still in bed....recovering after a night out with friends....off for Sunday lunch out so that will perk me up!

LL - which personal development bloggers do you follow, if you don't mind me asking? I am always interested in this kind of thing! Your story sounds sad and uplifting at the same time; I am so glad you found love and support with your second husband, but so sad that you lost him. Gives me hope that there is someone out there for everyone - I don't always have faith in that, I have depended on myself for such a long time it will be hard to trust someone else. I have started looking at dating sites, not sure which one(s) to go for, people seem to have mixed luck on all of them!

As far as you setting up a business - you are so articulate when you write, I am wondering if you could maybe do something that makes the most of your previous expertise selling property, in teaching others how to do it? Lots of people earn a living by selling online courses and information. Just a thought.

Sugarbaby - sorry to hear you are under the weather, get well soon.

House Elf - I say go for it with your business ideas. We only have one life and as they say, we only regret the things we didnt do!

  • one option could be to pay for the first consultation privately then go back into the NHS system. I recommended this to my parents years ago and it worked a treat. a one off appointment doesn’t break the bank, most consultants work privately and in NHS, so can put you on their nhs list if you need follow up treatment. i occasionally save £10 into an electronic pot off my online bank account for such a purpose. a bit like my own insurance policy. that is heck of a wait though and as it’s neurological I would want to see someone sooner than later.

best of luck no matter what you decide.:)

  • Mrs_slapshot - that Palm Springs holiday sounds lovely!

    - I'm sorry you have your teeth pain, uh, I remember having problems with my wisdom teeth. It's horrible.

    Candygirl
    - yes maybe a private appointment would be the way to go.

I really overdid it going out this weekend, far too much alcohol and junk food! I had such a hangover yesterday. I spent a lot of money too and I am supposed to be saving for early retirement!

I was in bed most of the day yesterday and it made me think about making some lifestyle changes. I need to have some more early nights as I am staying up listening to music and drinking wine until about midnight or even until 2 am some nights.:o I am reading a book on sleep at the moment and I want to copy the advice.

My husband said to me that it will catch up with my health at some point as I'm not 21 anymore, lol!

I am going to set a strict nighttime routine. I find it difficult as my husband does shift work. He is on nights tonight but I am going to make sure that I am in bed by 11 the majority of the week.

I was saying at the weekend how good oats are for controlling cholesterol. I was thinking as I was saying it that I should eat it myself then instead of often eating leftover cold pizza from the fridge for breakfast!

I don't have high cholesterol but it still might be a good lifestyle change.

I thought I would have a healthy (and quite cheap) breakfast today. I had rolled Scottish porridge oats made with a splash of almond milk and mixed fruit on top. Strawberries, blueberries, mango chunks and raspberries. The finished product looked quite Instagram worthy. I am going to have that every morning.:T

    I second this!

Years ago, DH signed up for Benenden through his employer - it is now open to everybody - and although I thought he was mad at the time because we were on such a tight budget, it really has been worth it.

    Instagram worthy breakfast.....:rotfl::rotfl:

I had porridge too this morning. No photo worthy though.....:o

    Good morning everyone.

Champagne moments.. .....Well yesterday was lovely. Pottered about then my DS2 and his fab girlfriend (partner) came for a late lunch. He put a couple of things in the loft for me. We didn't bother hanging pictures, I decided I didn't like some of them any more......:rotfl:

Instead we just hung out and had some great conversations and laughs. Nice and relaxing. He was tired, having sat and passed an exam on Saturday. Only 6 more weeks and he's finished, a fully qualified electrician. I'm so proud of him. Working full time and studying is not easy.

However he did retune me into Plex. :D. There is a much better choice of films on there. Last night I watched Ford v Ferrari. Really enjoyed it, I do like a good racing car film.

Candy.....I too would second a private neuro appt if you can stretch to it. The consultant will then make a clinical decision. If he thinks you need urgent treatment he will add you to his NHS list pronto.

I know some people think it's immoral to pay for private consultations and I understand why but it's a decision for each individual.

My husband had to see a neuro. He had private medical insurance so we opted to go privately, the wait was 3 weeks. The NHS wait was 11 weeks (assuming no cancellations). By the time he saw the neuro privately he was sleeping 16 hrs a day......I honestly doubt he would have lasted 11 weeks. He would have fallen into a coma. And then who knows. As it was he was then immediately admitted into hospital.

Yes he did eventually die. There was never any question of a cure but he did get another 9 years which enabled him to see his sons reach adulthood. Better than nothing.

Wednesday.....one of my goals this year was to get more and better quality sleep. Your husband is right. Lack of sleep or poor quality sleep is detrimental to our health.

I'm doing ok at the moment, in fact for the last few nights I have had a good 8 hrs. The difference is amazing......I feel so much better for it. I look better too. It's true what they say about beauty sleep. At this rate I shall be a goddess. :rotfl:

Another gorgeous day here.....I'm off out, a trip to Aldi for a few bits and maybe a mooch round the chazza. Drop off some unwanted paintings and a mirror and see if they have any amazing bargains.....:

    Have a great day y'all.
