My Champagne moments yesterday were all about going to Leilani restaurant with my daughter for a meal and then staying for Karaoke. We had a Groupon for the meal so it was a bargain as well as being delicious :D

I had a starter of saltfish fritters and my daughter had suya beef with rocket. We both had a Disaronno Gladiator cocktail and a main of steak and chips with salad and pepper sauce with half a grilled tomato. We both really enjoyed our meals. :D

We both enjoyed the Karaoke. There were a good amount of singers and there was a really fun vibe. :D Everyone was in the mood to sing and dance. I did a lot of dancing sitting on my chair. I sang 4 songs:

It's Now Or Never by Elvis

    Fever by Peggy Lee

Make You Feel My Love by Adele

    No Matter What by Boyzone

I got told that in terms of my singing 'you are on fire tonight' by one of the men at Karaoke who is a regular. Then at the end of the night the same man said 'I really enjoyed your singing tonight'. I said thank you to the man for both compliments. :D I was just so happy to be well enough to return to Karaoke :j

    Sounds fab sugarbaby.

As I write I’m sitting in one of my favourite bars sipping Prosecco. My son has just arrived.

    It’s a great life.

For anyone who counts going out for coffee as a treat ... instead of one of those nasty plastic reusable cups - you can often get twin-walled ceramic ones in TK M@xx and sometimes in chazzers. They make all the difference when you want a 'luxury cuppa' and there's usually a discount to be had/extra points, A twin wall keeps your drink piping hot (or icy cold) which is great if you hate lukewarm coffee/chilled drinks!

Costa + Starbucks give a 25p discount per drink and you can sit-in

Cafe Nero x2 points and you can sit-in (we now have enough points for 5 free coffees!

Of course you can make coffee at home or bring a flask - but sometimes a cup of coffee and a sit down to watch the world go by is what's required :)

I'm definitely a sit down and watch the world go by kind of girl. If it's nice I will sit outside. I love cafe culture, sitting chatting, or if I'm alone I might take a book or buy a newspaper. I have the luxury of time so I can indulge myself in a leisurely coffee or maybe lunch.

This afternoon/early evening met my eldest boy and his wife and baby for tapas at one of my favourite haunts - hence the Prosecco in my earlier post - can't have tapas without wine. :rotfl:

A lot of our local restaurants are doing deals to drum up trade in January and my son ended up with a fistful of 50% off vouchers, so it made a nice inexpensive treat.

Before that I had to pop into the bank.....the cashier said "I really like your coat, what a fabulous colour (mustard). And I love the colour of your sweater. (Raspberry).

I have to confess I rather like the combo myself......nice and colourful but not garish. I do like to wear more colour nowadays, especially on dark winter days. Although it was nice here today, bright and mild. This morning the birds were singing their little hearts out, it felt like spring was in the air. Noticed I've got a nice crop of bulbs peeking through too. Wahoo.

As part of my champagne lifestyle I like to look in on my art collection (housed in the local museum and art gallery lol).

  • My Champagne moment yesterday evening was going to Karaoke at the wine bar in Herne Hill.

There was only one other singer there apart from myself, so after the 2 of us had sung 2 songs each, the DJ changed it to a dance night and I had a great night, dancing my legs off :D

As there were not many people there, I cut the night short and left just before 10pm

  • Wednesday.....one of my goals this year was to get more and better quality sleep. Your husband is right. Lack of sleep or poor quality sleep is detrimental to our health.

I'm doing ok at the moment, in fact for the last few nights I have had a good 8 hrs. The difference is amazing......I feel so much better for it. I look better too. It's true what they say about beauty sleep. At this rate I shall be a goddess. :rotfl:
Wednesday - your post did make me chuckle...you sound just like me! I would also like to make sleep a priority; I have just realised how like my mum I am becoming - she was a devil for staying up late. I love my bed - I really do - and I hate getting up in the mornings. I love the idea of an early night but I either seem to start waking up around 9pm, or I find lots of things to do or read to keep me awake! I must try harder because like LL, if I have good sleep it makes such a huge difference.

The book I'm reading is called Sleep Smarter: 21 Essential Strategies to Sleep Your Way to a Better Body, Better Health, and Bigger Success - Shawn Stevenson. It has some excellent tips.

I read that the sleep you need as a general rule is from 10pm-2am every night so I have been going against this completely by staying up so late.

I am trying to go to bed by 11 but it is hard. Hopefully I will get into a good sleep schedule after a few weeks.

  • I've been feeling really rough as my "hangover" from last Saturday turned out to be a bad cold.

I have had a lot of time lying in bed ill to reflect and to plan. This year is going to be about my health. I was looking at some photos on my brother's phone last weekend and thinking how old some of the people in my family looked.

I have my 44th birthday coming up and that is the same age as one of them had their first heart attack. :( That person is only about 18 years older than me but looks in their seventies now!

I am going to cut down on alcohol, overhaul my nutrition and try and eat healthily at least 80-90% of the time as well as getting the early nights.

I have been veggie/vegan for years and I think that is why my lifestyle hasn't caught up with me yet. I don't want it to catch me!:rotfl:

I have ordered some vitamins, some matcha green tea (it's like a healthy form of coffee) some healthy fats in the form of hemp seeds to go on my porridge and I have done an online shop and bought lots of tasty and nutritious foods.

I have a Slipknot concert this Saturday at the 02 and i would normally go crazy and drink my body weight in alcohol in this type of situation. I am going to really restrict my drinking to three drinks and try and find a restaurant where I can have a healthy meal beforehand. :T

Sorry, that turned into an essay.:o:D

A good sleep is so important! My husband has gained some weight due to his new job within the same company, he now has a proper desk job, whereas before he would be up and down 5 flights of stairs all day (IT). He has started to snore!! I wake up (knowingly - so probably way more often) about 4 times a night and push him to turn onto his side, but he takes a long time to respond. My face has aged 10 years in 6 months :(, and I just cannot concentrate and get things done.
