    Hello everyone....,

Lots of nice little champagne moments today.

Well the new less screen rule seems to be helping. Despite being sniffly and having a sore throat I slept nicely through the night.

Woke up to a very dark morning so I decided I needed bright colours today, so am wearing a hot pink jumper. Then the sun came out, and despite my cold, I decided I needed a change of scene having been cooped up for several days. So To go out I wore my hot pink coat as well.:rotfl:

Didn't go far, only to the local Aldi where I stocked up on milk and healthy fruit and veg. I only spent £5.80 so I decided I would splurge on some red tulips for when I take the decorations down tomorrow, £1,79.

Then popped into my favourite chazzer. As you know I've just redecorated And I am now on the lookout for new accessories. Bought 3 vases, a pair of candlesticks, and three votives, all in colours to go with my new decor. £2.65 the lot.

Then to top all, I received a book that I had ordered weeks ago (and forgot about). So, despite not feeling 100%, all in all surprisingly good day in the end.

Just going to have a rest, start my book and then cook a nice healthy supper of salmon and Mediterranean vegetables.

I must wear pink more often, it seems to have made what could have been a dull boring day a bit more. "Rosy"

^ I love tulips! I love hot pink as well.:)

I wore my new Joe Browns black turtleneck out today. I was looking at myself in the mirror before I went out and my husband said "Who are you trying to impress lately?" I said "Just myself".:rotfl:

I have tried to get the patio clean but after the third time of scrubbing with a broom I got my husband to get out the pressure washer and he did the patio as well as the drive. It looks much better. I must remember to scrub the patio and drive once a week so it doesn't get into the state that it needs such a deep clean. It must be good exercise for the arms as well which is a bonus.:A

We might snuggle up and watch a film later. I was going to have something healthy to eat for dinner but I fancy veggie burger and chips. I might have a salad with it.:D

    Good Morning,

    Lots of bubbles last night!

It was DS1's GF birthday yesterday, so we organised a big birthday meal.

Not as big as Christmas, but not far off!

The chicken was in the freezer, I bought all the roast veg on offer, and my friend made pudding.

A champagne celebration on a lemonade budget. :j

    Good morning everyone......

House elf.....your family birthday celebrations sound fab.

Well my champagne moments are very pedestrian......just quiet domestic moments of the Hygge variety. I'm still struggling with the lurgy, just at the cough stage now.......:rotfl: starting to feel a bit fed up if I'm honest. Never mind, it will pass and I'll be right as rain soon enough.

In the meantime I'm keeping warm and keeping busy. Today I shall be doing some cooking and a bit of gentle tidying up.

All the Christmas decorations down now. And I am currently enjoying "fluffing"........dressing the rooms, giving them a final tweak. I need my son to come and give me a hand hanging art work and mirrors at some point but I'm not quite ready yet.

I'm aiming to dig out some different accessories that have been stored in boxes since I moved in. Although I'll have to put my big girl pans on, it's cold in the loft. :rotfl: The attic bedroom is still a bit of a dumping ground....but it can wait for now.

Right time to get the day started......

    Happy Sunday everyone.

My challenge begins in earnest tomorrow. :rotfl:

I thought this worth sharing from facebook .......If you don’t already know this .... The Body Shop will accept ALL your cosmetic containers ... plastic , glass ( apart from combustible stuff like paper etc) .... shampoo bottles , tubes of make up ALL OF THEM ... doesn’t matter what make of product and they will go for recycling ... the company they are working with sends nothing to Landfill ..

BUT if no one uses this facility it will be scrapped so please use it

My Champagne moment yesterday was my niece J and my great niece M coming to visit me. :D

I had completely forgotten about their proposed visit, so my home was a bit untidy and I had not bothered to even get dressed, I was still in my nightwear, but it did not matter. :) It was a lovely visit and they bought me a bunch of flowers :D

I was even able to give lots of the leftover Christmas chocolate sweets and 2 boxes of chocolate covered biscuits to them to get rid of them quickly. :D

Jeez Louise. I have started this new cleaning routine as I have neglected doing proper deep cleaning for a while now.:o The more I'm doing the more I'm seeing that needs cleaning. I have much more to do than I thought.

I just took a break to look on here and online and I randomly saw this quote.

Here’s the good news: By taking small steps you’re one step closer today than you were yesterday. Keep it up.

It is relevant to how I'm feeling at the moment.:rotfl:

I am going to put a vase of fresh flowers in my living room permanently as they lift my mood. My husband is buying me some on his way home.:A

I hope everyone is okay and keeping warm. January can be quite a depressing time of the year!

Yes, definitely fresh flowers if you can manage it. They don't have to be expensive. I do like flowers and greenery around the place. They lift my mood and of course plants are good for improving air quality, especially in winter when we don't open the windows as much.

Still feeling under the weather I'm afraid. And it's dark, depressing, cold and wet so I'm going nowhere. I've lit the fire so am nice and cosy. Definitely a light the candles and snuggle in front of the tv evening. :D.
