Wednesday.....sorry to hear about your friends MS diagnosis.
According to the documentary I watched the diet works at its optimum on people who have been newly diagnosed rather than someone whose illness is well advanced.
Makes sense.
Anyway if you google MS Hope you should find the website easily. I've had a good look at it, because although my husband didn't suffer from MS some of the symptoms, and the way it progresses are quite similar,
Tbh many of the neuro illnesses do seem to share a lot of commonalities and there is a lot of crossover.
I'm not saying it's a miracle cure, no one is but if it can help manage the symptoms and slow down the speed of progression then it's worth looking at.
Anyway bedroom clear up went well. A couple of bags to go. Still need to do more but at least it's tidy and I can find things. :rotfl:1 -
Lovely champagne moment this morning...
I was the recipient of a lovely RAK.
I went to a local garage, one that has helpers to fill your car, check your tyre pressure etc. Or it did. When I went today they had converted the tatty forecourt shop to a mini Waitrose.....looks fab;)
But when I asked for help with my tyre pressure they told me they don't offer that service any more. I didn't throw a strop :rotfl: I just smiled and said "oh what a shame, I thought that was a lovely service you provided, the main reason I like to come here".
A head popped up from behind the counter and said "if you can hang on a few minutes, I'll do it for you". So I did.
We chatted whilst he did my tyres, he seemed friendly (around mid 40s and quite handsome). He admitted he didn't work at the garage, he was just delivering some stock for the shop (so I'm assuming a delivery driver for Waitrose).
We had a nice chat and a few laughs and then it dawned on me.....
he was flirting with me.:rotfl:
Not that I was interested but it's nice to know I've still got "it"

My Champagne moment on Thursday evening was going to watch A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic again. I found it even more enjoyable than I did on Monday. :j I got another free mince pie as well.
My Champagne moment on Friday evening was going to my monthly poetry group Blackfriars Vocal. It was a really lovely evening with lots of talented poets who all have very different creative voices.I got a loud round of applause at the end of each of my 3 poems which was so gratifying for me.
2 of the poems were about Wayne and they really got everyone laughing out loud. :rotfl: As it was our last poetry group for this year everyone took the time at the end of the evening to socialise with each other and wish each other a merry Christmas.
I also got quite a haul of 5 free cakes, a large cookie, 2 sausages rolls, 2 large scones, a Belgian pastry, a cheese topped roll and a soft seeded bread roll to take home.
I had 1 of the sausage rolls, the cheese topped roll and some salad for my dinner when I got home.Very welcome as I was really hungry as I last ate when I had my lunch at 1pm and by the time I got home it was just after 9pm.

I got chatted up last night as well LL.:D A very Essex guy. Lol.
I had such a nice time last night at the concert at the O2. There was a very good atmosphere and we had a nice meal at Harvester beforehand. It's quite decent for vegan food there now.:T
I'm just going to have a pyjama day today after having a hot bath. It's lovely, bright and sunny out there after being extremely frosty this morning. It was so cold coming back last night that I treated myself to a black cab part of the way home.:)1 -
Glad you had a nice time,Wednesday. Don't blame you for calling a cab, either. Life is too short to suffer on a cold winters night.
I might do the same next week, when I go out. I'm going to the city on both Monday and Wednesday. I had to cross the city yesterday and got snarled up in traffic, took me an hour to do a 15 minute journey. Awful. I was so stressed my neck and shoulders were killing me when I finally got home.
So I think I might avoid taking the car next week, parking will be a nightmare with all the extra shoppers, so I might just take the bus in (free) and get a taxi home. Its only £10 so worth just sitting back and letting someone else take the strain whilst I admire the lights, plus of course I can have a glass or 3.
Very cold here today. I have lit the fire in the dining room, so nice and cosy. I shall sit here and do some sewing and write my Christmas cards later. Then light the fire in the sitting room tonight whilst I curl up with a film.
I have checked with my energy provider this morning and I am well in credit, I have got a shed full of coal and wood, a wardrobe full of nice new warm clothes and I've now got my new windows in so hopefully I shall be nice and cosy this winter, certainly better than last year when I had just moved in and the house was so cold.
Had a call from the decorator.....he's had a cancellation so can give me 4 days week after next. Wahoo. I'll get him to do the lounge.
The kitchen can wait until the new year, it's a huge job and will be very disruptive so I prefer not to rush and end up in a mess over Christmas. The dining room end is all finished now - apart from some new artwork and reupholstering the chairs but that can wait too.
It's starting to come together. Have set myself a target to get the inside, or at least the downstairs, finished by the end of April.1 -
LL and Wednesday get you 2 ladies both being chatted up by yummy men.
Even when you are not interested, it is the loveliest of compliments the man is paying you, so bask in it
LL you have already made enormous strides in getting your house all fab in time for this winter. Take it easy on getting the rest of the inside of your house to your own fabulous standard1 -
Champagne moment today - pottering about the house whilst Mr Ska is at work.
Bit of music, might have a large wine in a while.
Going to pop a casserole in later
I really quite like having a day to myself.
Hope you are all having a good day xThe opposite of what you know...is also true1 -
My Champagne moments yesterday were my grandson and his new girlfriend coming to visit me and having a real laugh with both of them.
Then in the evening I went for a night of dancing to the pub in Lewisham Way. I danced my legs off1 -
My Champagne moments yesterday were going to Streatham Odeon to watch Harriet and Blue Story. I bought the tickets with my Odeon Limitless card
ODEON says...
Based on the thrilling and inspirational life of an iconic American freedom fighter, 'Harriet' tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes. Her courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history.
I was absolutely rivetted by the unfolding story of the former slave Harriet Tubman. I would give this film 10/10:T
Blue Story is a hard hitting crime drama about 2 friends who become rivals in a vicious London gangland war. As this film had generated so much controversy, I wanted to know what all of the fuss was about. I felt that the film was geared to the teenage market, so I would give this film 7/101 -
Good morning everyone.....
How are we all, still, enjoying the champagne moments I hope, even whilst caught up in the middle of the pre Christmas frenzy.
I am tootling along, happily working on the house, sewing, painting, planning the next step. Today I'm painting the fire surround. It's a horrid fake mahogany effort, although the insert bit is lovely, pressed metal art nouveau style, so I'm going to paint the surround a stone colour. Should look much better.
Doing this in readiness for the decorator next week.
My son came yesterday and fitted a new centre light fitting so we're good to go. So hopefully a nice smart lounge for Christmas, although I will need to revamp some bits of furniture and update the accessories but that can wait until new year. In the meantime I can pretty it up with Christmas decorations.
It's been busy busy busy here so not much time for socialising what with decorating and Christmas preparations and all. Can't believe where the time goes.
No worries.....plenty of time for gadding about when the house is finished. Going for the big push now......:rotfl:
Did finally manage to get my hair cut and also had a nice little shopping splurge.
All is good.1
