They did that here too. I've not seen them do it recently though.

Don't think they can afford to put customers off now, with everyone watching films at home.I can never sit still n watch a film at home, so the cinema is brill for me:D
I watched Stan n Ollie last night though, I'd give it a 6/10:D

Tbh. I sometimes wonder how cinemas actually make any money. Sometimes there are only a handful of people in there, even for the big really popular films.

Anyhoo....after my seriously spendy September I have now done a freezer/food inventory - the freezer and cupboards are groaning with food. This morning I went to Asda and did a bit of a stock up to fill the gaps. Hopefully I won't have to buy much this month, just milk, fruit and veg etc. Try and have a use up month.

My favourite Badedas bubble bath was on offer so I snaffled some up even though I still have loads left. It was £4 instead the usual £5.50. Same with my sensodyne toothpaste. (Unfortunately it has to be sensodyne, it's the only one that works for me).

I think that's the trick isn't it, cut back where you can so you can still have the things you need or want.

Had to rejig my diary this week so I've cancelled tomorrow's cinema trip. Never mind, there will be another time. Next weeks calendar is already starting to fill up.

However did I think I would find time to go back to work......:rotfl:

Need to sort out my car insurance renewal.......

    SPOILER ALERT:
We watched Stan and Ollie the other night on Amazon Prime - summarised as "a couple of blokes work together, have a bit of an argument, one gets sick so they make up" - not a huge amount of dramatic tension. The characterisations were good though, and Steve Coogan wasn't "playing Steve Coogan" as he often does.

Snap. We went to Cosmo yesterday too, but in London. We had a few big birthdays recently, including my own, so decided to go out for a meal.

Hi Chanie, I did not know there was one in London, what is the address of the London Cosmo?
  • My other Champagne moment on Friday was going to my Open Mic event in Blackfriars. :D:j

Only when I opened my glasses case did I realise that I had left my reading glasses at home despite having 10 pairs of reading glasses in my home. As a consequence of my mistake, I had to change from my planned creative writing performance to singing Adele's Make You Feel My Love acapella.

I also got 2 free meals, 4 sweet rolls and 3 mini triple chocolate cakes to take home to share with my sister J and my daughter. :D

My Champagne moment yesterday was going to my usual pub with my sister J. We were expecting Karaoke, but it turned out to be a DJ night. We had a really lovely evening. I danced my legs off and had some lovely conversations with my sister when I needed a rest. We had real fun together. :D:j

My Champagne moment today was taking my sister J to Streatham Odeon to watch Downton Abbey. She absolutely loved it as did I second time around. :j:D I used 2 of my Groupon Odeon vouchers that cost £4 each plus I had to pay an online booking fee for each ticket of 75p per ticket. :D I still saved myself £10.50 as I am not allowed to use my Odeon Limitless card in conjunction with any other offer.

There is one in Croydon, Valley Retail Park, which is where IKEA is. It is called JRC Global Buffet, but it used to be a Cosmo (I still call it Cosmo). There is also a Cosmo in Romford.

I know neither Croydon or Romford are technically not London........

I watched Stan and Ollie on Amazon Prime tonight. Kept nodding off. :rotfl:

Another change of plan...... I'm going to the cinema tomorrow after all, going to see Downton again. My friend hasn't seen it yet and doesn't like going by herself. I'll use my Meercats 2 4 1 so it won't cost me much. And, as I'm back on WW I won't take any nibbles, other than maybe just my usual sugarfree mints.

Aldi do a range of sugar free sweeties which are dead cheap and really nice.

If we go out for a drink afterwards I'll stick to low calorie tonic water or mineral water.

Cooked a big pot of boef bourguignon today. Going to do one of navarin of lamb tomorrow. Freezer filling up nicely with lots of WW friendly home cooked dishes. Saves me resorting to unhealthy high calorie meals and snacks when I busy decorating or too tired to cook.

Time for a cuppa and then an early night.
