My Champagne moment yesterday was returning to The Vaults Theatre in Waterloo to watch SHIDA again, as I had got another free ticket worth £25 once more. :T
2nd time round it was just as amazing as the 1st time I went to see this musical show :j:D0 -
DANNI listening to Nick Cave, n cuddling your dog sounds like a fab day to spend an evening

Hello everyone.....a would be champagne moment has had to be cancelled due to family illness.....a girly afternoon with DIL and her mum...we were going to lunch in style and then go and see Judy. Never mind - maybe next weekend.
So.....instead I have decided to press on with decorating the dining room. It is going to be a marathon. Currently still repairing and painting the beams. It's a truly horrid job and there are times when I wish I had never started. :rotfl: I chivvy myself along by reminding myself how fab it's going to look.
It's a large kitchen diner. I am just concentrating on the dining section for now, aiming to get it done by Christmas. The kitchen section can wait until the new year.
At the moment it's all dark oak beams and dark pine cupboards, so I shall be sloshing gallons of paint around to make it light, bright and airy. Going for a Scandi look, whites, creams, greys and just a pop of deep blue. My son has already replaced the lights, made a huge difference already, quite the statement item.
After several sessions of batch cooking I now have a freezer full of healthy home cooked "ready meals" for when I get tired whilst decorating. Should make life a bit easier.
Ah well coffee break over, time to get cracking whilst I've still got a bit of energy left. :rotfl:0 -
Good morning everyone...
Well I worked myself to a standstill yesterday but that horrible dark Ceiling is starting to look a whole lot better. It will take several coats but hey it will be worth it. Rough on the neck though and my knee doesn't much care for balancing on step ladders. I would love to be able to pay someone .....hey ho but then I wouldnt get get that glow of smug satisfaction for a job well done.
And....the money I save can perhaps go towards a nice holiday next year.
Candy.....how was the Bowie tribute. Hope you are feeling a bit brighter.
Danni. How's the first weekend of freedom going.
Right .....another day of grafting, then a nice rest later with a film or two to recover. I'm going to have a day off tomorrow. Meet a friend for lunch, and maybe a bit more retail therapy.0 -
My Champagne moments yesterday:
Yesterday I woke up feeling a bit on the rough side with the symptoms of a cold.I had bought myself a ticket for the Wahala Comedy Clash Jamaica Versus England at the Indigo at The 02.
So I had to dose myself up with over the counter flu medication all day and throat lozenges so that I would be well enough to attend and I am so glad that I went.
All through the evening, I laughed so much, that I cried and my sore throat got even more sore. I did a lot of sitting down dancing as well.I had treated myself to a VIP ticket for this show. I had the time of my life. :T:D Every single one of the comedians were at the top of their game and so were the DJ's. :j I had a free ticket for the after party because I had bought a VIP ticket, but I was so tired, that I decided to give it a miss and I went home.

Good morning all
Well week off work for me and Mr Ska, but no real champagne moments booked so far, but there is time
Car has gone in for MOT today - eek fingers crossed it is not costly! - and that will be the deciding factor on some hopefully champagne moments
Id like to have enough left over to see if little un can spare his old mother an afternoon and treat him to the cinema.
We will seeThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Hi Lessonlearned & all,
I had a wonderful weekend thank you!
Spent the majority of it cleaning mold off the spare room walls & bathroom he used! bleugh!!!
It was worth it, the house is feeling very relaxed now minus the energy-sucker!
Enjoyed some Prosecco & truffles from Lidl. Also ordered a Gousto food box £30 for 8 decent portions, all fish meals.
...& the new Nick Cave album was amazing too!
Hope you all had a fab weekend!!0 -

I heard about the recent Debbie Harry book and how she said once David Bowie flashed her and how big he was, lol.:rotfl:0 -
I read somewhere that he was "generously endowed" :rotfl:
Just having a break, sat in my sunny nook in my dining room eating my lunch. Still busy with the pollyfilla.
Had a day off yesterday. Champagne moment was lunch with my friend and a browse round the shops. Didn't buy anything. Nothing took my fancy......:D0
