Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget.

I have three nights out to look forward to this week!:D
I am meeting someone in South London to go for drinks and to a vegan cafe. Then at the weekend I am going to the coast for a concert and also to another vegan cafe. We are staying in a seafront hotel. Then on Saturday we are going to see a film (Angel has Fallen) and another vegan cafe!
Probably not very lemonade budget though come to think of it!:rotfl:
Then last night, my husband presented me with a parcel - he had heard me mention the shop LUSH last weekend, when I walked past and wandered in, and back out again without buying anything because of how expensive it is.....well he presented me with a LUSH gift set, I got five bath bombs and a wonderful sleep set, which is shower gel and body lotion, with lavender tones
I am absolutely over the moon that he had done this and so very pleased.
I love Lush and I love the bath bombs. I usually get them as a birthday present.:)lessonlearned wrote: »Wednesday.........hope you feel a bit brighter now. Your "cure" sounds good though.
Yes, I do feel a bit better. I realised what was bothering me last week and resolved it in my mind.
I'm glad your retail therapy cheered you up.:A0 -
Well this morning I did my September spending review.:rotfl:
Definitely not a champagne moment. Ha ha. I need to buck my ideas up. I want to start overpaying my mortgage and replenish my savings in addition to living well.
I can definitely make a start with both the groceries and general housekeeping. I spent too much in that dept. I have just done a freezer and store cupboard inventory - both are groaning with food. Time to start using it up. Same with toiletries and cleaning materials. I can cut back there too and use everything up before I buy more.
I'm not going to cut back on socialising though. I still want to get out and about so I will keep on the lookout for free or cheap entertainment.
Actually yesterday's little bit of retail therapy only cost me £6 at the chazzer and the items I bought were nice. I shall enjoy wearing them. A lot of the food I bought was yellow stickered too. I also needed some DIY materials so made a special effort to source them at Wilkinson's - much cheaper there than B&Q or Homebase.
I may not have much money but I'm so not ready to give up on the good life just yet.:rotfl: I like nice clothes, good food, nice things for my home and going out and having some fun.
Life is short......
So although I say I'm going to be extra frugal I have no intention of wearing sack cloth and ashes. I shall still dress up and show up.
I may have the budget of a pauper but I still intend to live like a queen.
Ps got chatted up by a nice man at the chiller cabinet in Sainsbury's yesterday. Pity I didn't fancy him. Lol.0 -
My Champagne moment on Friday was my sister J arriving for a five night, 6 day visit with me and my family.
:j
My Champagne moments yesterday were all connected to going to Cosmo restaurant in Reading to celebrate my 13 year old and my 14 year old granddaughters birthdays.:j
We all had delicious food, desserts and alcoholic and soft drinks. It was another fun filled family event. :T My 2 granddaughters were both really pleased with the array of presents and birthday cards with money in them that they received.
We took the 36 bus to Paddington station and the driver neglected to say the bus was on diversion as we approached Paddington station. As a consequence we had a lengthy walk back to the station. We had to walk very, very slowly to accommodate my sister's snail like walking pace. Her Arthritis leaves her more incapacitated than I am. We finally got to the restaurant 30 minutes late but the rest of the party had arrived for the reservation time so it was not a big issue.

Snap. We went to Cosmo yesterday too, but in London. We had a few big birthdays recently, including my own, so decided to go out for a meal.0 -

That's good going. I try not to eat at the cinema, bad for my waistline, but if I do I just take in a small mini bar of chocolate or small bag of Maltese's or minstrels. The cinema sizes are far too big, I could easily eat them but there's probably a days worth of calories in them......although occasionally I might splurge on a salted caramel ice cream.0 -

I take my own treats in, cos the cinema prices are extortionate"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
