Good luck with the new job.:A
I have ordered a cheap silver wedding band as I thought it is not worth the price to get my old one resized.
I still can't fit into my engagement ring properly despite losing so much weight so I'm going to Ernest Jones to get it resized next week. It's diamond and platinum so it's about the most expensive thing I own, apart from my house.:p
I'm going to ask them if they think it would be worth it to sell my old gold band.Oooh good luck with the job WEDNESDAY, what is it you'll.be doing? :Dxx
Not me!Ska Lover.

Hi folks...I've been AWOL for a while, but I'm still here!
I've had a couple of health issues...but nothing too serious! (Certainly nowhere near as serious as in the past!)
I am still enjoying my few champagne moments....
A new bundle is ready for the Charity Shop....I used to think that the BEST feeling was buying my first jeans...but trust me...needing to buy new jeans in yet another size smaller is even better! ...I finally left behind the 'obese' weight range and am now 'officially' merely overweight....and 'normal' WILL be achieved!...My next target is 'under 12 stone by my birthday' at the end of this month!
I am also splashing out a bit of csh on a satellite dish formy TV....which will let me get German channels (so a dish, but no pay-per-view channels!)
And I am excited at the thought of getting another wig! This will be partly-funded as a birthday gift....I am tempted to go blonde...but will possibly go red instead (my natural hair colour - when I HAD decent hair! - is 'brown-almost-black')
London would scare me....my Autism means I am happier in a quiet little town!
candygirl….hope you get the doctor-issues sorted!0 -
Good morning,
Champagne moment Sunday was a trip to the cinema with DH, using Sweet Sunday vouchers.....worked out to £2.70 per ticket :j
We went to see The Current War.......really good.
I hope to find some more cinema packs before the end of the offer.
Yesterday was a doing day, but we rewarded ourselves with a trip to IKEA. Meatballs and chips for tea. (Free coffee with our Family card). I also found a nice cushion in the reduced corner for £2.50, including the cushion pad! :j
Cheers0 -
Ooh I love a trip to ikea....not been for ages. I will wait now until after the school holidays.
You're right Prinzessilien. Slipping into a dress size smaller is a great champagne moment. I get a real kick out if it.
Candy.....hope you get some answers today. Fingers crossed for you.
My champagne moments over the last few days have been of the "quiet satisfaction of a job well done variety". Making progress with the house renovations and garden. The skip is almost loaded. I hired a labourer in the end. Worth every penny. The shed is almost done, all the bricks and building rubble have been cleared and a huge monstrosity of a wardrobe has gone. Wahoo. Lots of lovely space in my bedroom.
I'm getting there. I am going to see if the labourer wants to come back and help me with some of the heavier jobs. I am finally learning that I can't do everything myself......I'm not in my 30s any more. Never mind it will all be worth it and it keeps me active and fit. And it's more enjoyable and satisfying than going to a boring old gym.
Tonight I'm off out for a meal with the meet up group. Nothing fancy but it should be fun. I need a night off. I was gardening until 8.30 last evening. I'm full of aches and pains this morning, :rotfl: will do some Pilates and have a nice long soak in a mineral salt bath.
It's coming up to the anniversary of my husband's death on Saturday. 5 years now but I still miss him like crazy. The anniversaries are always a bit daunting. I did feel rather low yesterday (hence the evening gardening to take my mind off it all). I'll just keep busy and I'll get through it.0 -
I enjoy Camden Market! I used to love going to Camden market when I was a student/first knew DH. We were a bit on the Goth side back then, lol :rotfl: I even very briefly had a stall there selling clothes I'd designed. Last time we were there - probably eight or nine years ago - it seemed very different to how we remembered it. Nowhere near as good...but perhaps it's improved again.......
Champagne moments over the past few days have involved - when the weather permitted - sitting outside, enjoying the fruits of our gardening labours. As the cottage was a repo when we purchased it, the grounds had been allowed to run wild...but not in a good way
We've over half an acre of actual garden plus some woodland and although much of the garden areas had plants, many of these are overgrown laurels, huge ancient trees and wall-to-wall weeds! Not much that gave any meaningful colour. We've gradually been clearing and planting and - our second summer here - things are hugely improved, although truthfully we've barely scratched the surface.
My talented DH created a peaceful space in a walled courtyard that was previously a sea of slippery decking and now it's full of roses, raised beds with veg and herbs and twinkly lights it's a lovely place to relax....and utterly free. Sadly I can't say the same for what it cost to create but as we are inveterate bargain hunters and we didn't have to pay for labour, it seems well worth the expense. The perfect place to chill with some wine on a summer's evening....if it would only stop raining!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Not quite free, but definitely on the 'lemonade' budget: this afternoon dds and I put up the new trampoline! It's 10" across, and they both helped really well. The 8 year old read the manual (pictures) and tried to translate the English into Dutch. She is self-taught and actually did quite well, and the mistakes were hilarious (she thought so, too). The 11 year old helped pull, push, lift and screw, and really put herself into it, and took pride in her work.
The trampoline was a reward for 6 months of electronics-free Sundays, which will last until September, at least.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
