Maybe you could call the receptionist at your surgery to leave a note to tell your GP about the fall?

Good to hear that you are dancing again, SUgarbaby. :T

I have had lots of nice little champagne moments this weekend, including a throughly enjoyable night out, first a trendy wine bar and then an Irish pub where a live band were playing a mix of traditional Irish music and a few Beatles songs thrown in. A nice evening in good company.

Today I have been tired so after going food shopping I have spent the afternoon lolling on the sofa watching a film and dozing.

I'll do more of the same after dinner and then hopefully I will wake up tomorrow feeling revitalised and raring to go.

Really need to do some serious house cleaning. :rotfl:

Daughters' friends are returning from holidays, so lots of playdates and sleepovers, both here and elsewhwere. We have quite a healthminded bunch of people here, apparently, so the children are happy with tap water and fruit. An ice cream and microwave popcorn are a real treat :) They all play in each others' back yards; one has a trampoline, another has a small pool, another has a slide and a swing, etc.

For the sleepovers, I confess to not always changing the bedding; one child for one night does not make it very dirty (I insist they wash at least their feet before they go to sleep - it's fun to see and hear four girls on the edge of the bath with their feet in the water, so many giggles!). I do air the bed out every time.

Anyway, as long as the children are occupied, I have some uninterrupted time for myself :D

My Champagne moment on Friday was using my Odeon Limitless card to buy a ticket to watch the film The Sun Is Also A Star at Streatham Odeon. :D

The film is about College-bound romantic Daniel Bae and Jamaica-born pragmatist Natasha Kingsley meet -- and fall for each other -- over one magical day amidst the fervor and flurry of New York City. Sparks immediately fly between these two strangers, who might never have met had fate not given them a little push.

With just hours left on the clock in what looks to be her last day in the U.S., Natasha is fighting against her family's deportation just as fiercely as she's fighting her growing feelings for Daniel.

The two leads are great at making the love story a pleasure to watch as it unfolds. They are both very attractive to look at and it seems possible that they could fall in love so quickly. I would give this film 7/10

My Champagne moment last night was going to a local wine bar for a night of dancing. I had another fun evening. I danced with 2 men who were both good dancers and one of the men bought me a bottle of water. :D

    Morning all...

not sure if this is actually going to be a 'champagne' moment or not!...I am just getting ready for my first appointment with a chiropodist!...Disabilities have slowly but surely been making it more and more difficult for me to see to my own feet/toe nails...and a family friend recommended this woman, who visits people in their own homes - and has other clients in the retirement block in which I live...Mum saw her last month, and says she is good, so I have asked to see her on her next visit to this block...which is today!

My Champagne moment yesterday was buying tickets at my local Odeon with my Odeon Limitless card for the films Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw and Blinded By The Light.

I have never watched any of the previous films in the Fast & Furious franchise but I loved Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw :D

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America's Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015's Fast & Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they've tried to take each other down.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever - and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown's Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw's sister - these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

Hobbs & Shaw blasts open a new door in the Fast universe as it hurtles action across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and from the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl to the lush beauty of Samoa.

Non stop action with a lot of humour as well. I would give this film 9.5/10

I also loved Blinded By The Light which was inspired by a true story :D

Set in 1987, during the austere days of Thatcher's Britain, 'Blinded By The Light' is a joyous, coming-of-age story about a teenager who learns to live life, understand his family and find his own voice through the words and music of Bruce Springsteen. 'Blinded By The Light' is inspired by British journalist Sarfraz Manzoor's memoir "Greetings From Bury Park.

I have never been a fan of Bruce Springsteen but this film has certainly opened my eyes to his considerable song writing talent. His songs make this film into a very insightful, pleasurable coming of age drama. I would give this film 9.5/10

Springsteen irritated me by calling himself "The Boss". Pretentious or what. :rotfl: but I have to say he can rattle out a "bangin tune". So I forgive him.

After all rock gods are not renowned for their modesty. :D

John Lennon always came over as very conceited about his talent but again I guess with good reason. He was a genius and I think the real powerhouse behind the Beatles. He and Paul worked well together but I think John would have found fame and fortune anyway.

Blinded by the Light is on my list.

There have been some really good music films this year. Yesterday, Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, Greatest Showman....and I understand a Bowie film is in the pipeline.

By contrast Bowie always seemed remarkably self effacing. And both Elton and Freddie struck me as being quite adorable underneath all their bravado.

Love Dwayne Johnson......he's is a hoot (and seemingly a decent guy in RL) and I think Statham can be a riot. He makes a terrific baddie.

On the small screen I'm still enjoying reruns of Downton Abbey and suffering along with June with the Handmaids Tale....they certainly keep piling on the misery. :rotfl: High time the Handmaids turned on their oppressors. I don't think I can take much more.

Vive La Revolution. :D. Alas I think that will be the next series. Can I suffer that long....

I am stockpiling films, and recording TV programmes for next winter. I can see many a cold winters night curled up with Peaky Blinders, Killing Eve and Gentlemen Jack.

I'm off Out for afternoon tea today. Problem is I'm not very hungry.....maybe I can have a doggy bag. :rotfl:
