    Hello everyone.

SUgarbaby. I do like your film reviews. Now that I have the meerkat deal I'm hoping to see more films at the cinema. There are quite a few in the pipeline I fancy.

Ska lover.....your orchestral concert sounds lovely. Something nice to look forward to.

I had a lovely day......met a friend from the Meet Up group. We didn't "do lunch" in the end, we just had a coffee and shared a scone with jam and clotted cream. So not doing too much damage to the diet.

We then had a mooch round a couple of chazzas. Picked up a couple of dresses and two tops for a bargainous £6. Ok so technically I don't NEED any more clothes but as I am getting out a lot more with my new improved social life it's nice to have lots of pretty going out clothes, especially now that I've lost almost 3 stones and get to flaunt my new improved shape. :D

    Dresses for £1???

Well it would be rude not too. :rotfl:

    Good Morning Folks,

Not sure when I posted my last Champagne moment.....will have to read back.

This week my favourite Champagne moment was a trip to London on Tuesday.......We have had an annual pass for Buckingham Palace. (Christmas present from DS1 18 months ago. On our first visit to the Palace last July, we signed up to Gift Aid and converted our ticket to an annual pass). We sneeked in a second Palace Tour, before the pass expires.

This time I did not bother with the audio tour. I just enjoyed wandering through all the rooms.

We had a cup of tea on the terrace at the end of the tour. (Gave the £6 scone a miss ). Also, enjoyed wandering around the gift shop.

I wasn't inspired to dash home and redecorate, but I do love to look at all the beautiful things. :D

We wandered in and out of the shops on Regent Street, trying to avoid the worst of the showers. I loved looking at the beautiful things in Liberty's.

Stopped into Westminster Cathedral on the way back to the train station. A hidden gem, we have not visited before.

Pizza Express on the way home, using our O2 offer for £10 for 2 pizzas.

A cheap day out in London, but lots of lovely memories.:)

    Have a lovely day :)

Sounds like a great day out. J'Adore Libertys. It could be my spiritual home, that and Chatsworth, which I visit at least once a year. I also love the V@A.

Actually I went to the cafe in M@S yesterday and afterwards had a mooch round their homewares. They had some beautiful Liberty inspired bits and pieces. Gorgeous textiles but £30 for a cushion is a bit steep for me. I think I'm going to have to get the sewing machine out. :D.

I was only saying to my friend yesterday (we are very like minded) how we both browse the posh shops and then try and copy their stuff on the cheap.

I think the great country houses, galleries, museums, sometimes even just a painting, can all be great sources of inspiration and ideas.

I often talk about "House fabbing" but I really do believe in the healing power of house renovations. For me, doing up houses is the perfect antidote for grief, heartache and stress. I think there is something very therapeutic about creating something beautiful, whether it's our clothes, our homes or even our gardens. .

I also find working with my hands is almost like a form of mindfulness. I get so engrossed that I can lose myself in the task and the stress just slips away.

I am not wealthy but I love my home to be a haven of comfort, beauty and elegance. I know I draw my strength from my home.

Today's champagne moments will be a much needed massage and then tonight it's Spanish night in one of my favourite city pubs. I'm taking the Venezuelan contingent. Should be a fun night. Hope the weather is nice so it can be held outside. It would have been perfect last week - hotter than Madrid. :rotfl:

Right off to hand wash the items I bought yesterday. The two dresses are made from very delicate fabrics so I won't risk just chucking them in the washing machine.

    Have a great day.

    Keep those champagne moments flowing.

Are you booked in for an MRI?

My husband had to have one and found out that he has essential tremors.

I get shaky hands when I'm anxious, I started getting it since last year when my dog was on a drip. My brother couldn't believe how much they were shaking when he saw me. I think the heat makes it worse as well, for some reason. It's really annoying.

Yeah, good idea. Hopefully it isn't anything serious. My husband has tremors but they barely affect his life.xxx:grouphug:

Candy.....hadn't realised you hadn't had an MRI scan yet. You definitely need one if you are going to get a proper diagnosis. Good luck with it all. It must be so stressful for you. Sending you :grouphug:

Fabulous champagne moment last night, Spanish night at a local pub. Fantastic night out. Sangria, tapas, two brilliant live music acts, great company. Even the rain held off. :rotfl: Danced my little legs off. And all for less than a tenner. :D

Ordered a skip for tomorrow so going to start sorting stuff. Have hired a helper for Sunday. A strapping young lad (the builders son) to move some of the heavy stuff.

Off to Alton Towers tomorrow. Not quite my thing if I'm honest. I'll go on the baby rides with my grandson whilst the youngsters go on the scary ones. :D.
  • Ooh enjoy Alton towers......years since I have been there and though I used to love it when i was younger.........it is now my idea of hell.
Beautiful gardens though from what I remember so maybe you could escape the hustle and bustle to have a look at them.

Champagne moment yesterday was arriving at my allotment to see another of my sunflowers has opened up. :j Picked some of the first brambles as well. There will be tons to go at over the next few weeks so looking forward to first bramble (or blackberry if youre posh) crumble.

Other champagne moments yesterday were my freebies arriving from amazon. (Paid for them with swagbucks earnings)

Book called "Its not you, its your hormones"

    12 aquafresh toothpastes

2 new straps for my fitbit as my old one had almost disintergrated

Started up my fitness again last night. Not been to the gym for a few weeks as I dont cope with the heat.

Did stretch and torture and my body knows about it today.

Its a class full of squats and lunges for the legs.......and lots of arm work with free weights and kettle bells. Its a good all round class and once I have got over that initial body ache that comes from not exercising regularly, I quite enjoy it.

    Good Morning :hello:

We had a very unexpected champagne moment yesterday, as I managed to get free tickets for Countryfile Live.

    A lovely day out......

We wandered around all the stalls.

Stopped in to a recording of Gardeners Question Time. Saw Bob Flowerdew and Christine Walkden. Very entertaining. I was very excited that the man next to me asked a question. You will be able to hear me clapping :rotfl:

Saw a couple of the presenters from Countryfile.

Free ice creams from the O2 stand with our O2 app. We also had a go on a fairground game. DH won a goody bag and I won a £5 Pizza Express gift card :j

A grand day out.......Lovely drive through the Cotswolds. Stopped off for a cup of tea and charged the car. Cost £5 there and back :j

LL Hope your day out to Alton Towers was fun. It felt like a second home when the children were young :rotfl: I love the gardens too.
    Have a lovely day :)
