Is this country going to crap?

These kids need a purpose in life. There could be many reasons why they are targeted but lets face it its the majority of those being killed have been targeted by a gang.
Coupled with the fact that policing numbers are down and other budgets slashed certainly doesn't help.In debt no more!0 -
I do think the country is going downhill. In my opinion its partly because society / authority is way too soft on those who do wrong or don't contribute. If you carry a knife chances are you will just be told to not do it again. If you can't be bothered to work it's possible to live off benefits for years. Many parents don't instill basic manners or consideration in their kids. Schools tolerate kids with bad attitudes as they don't have the power to do much else.
I also think people are quicker to get angry. Accidentally bump into someone and the response won't be ' no worries old chap' it will be ' what's your problem?!!! You wanna go outside?!!'. Accidentally find yourself in the wrong lane whilst driving? Most likely you will be beeped at or ignored instead of let in.
One theory I have is that because most of us have been fortunate in the UK to have lived all our lives in peacetime we don't have an unpleasant common cause to unite us. Instead we face off against each other. Show off about our cars, clothes and holidays and get violent because we don't want to be told what to do or be ' disrespected '.
There is also a sense of entitlement. Some people refuse to work for minimum wage even though they have no experience. Some people know all the tricks to get as many benefits as they can rather than earn money.
I could go on and on!!0 -
Arrests for all groups going down over time. Really good or really bad policing depending what you infer.

The state is supporting the breakdown of monogamous relationships and this is a key part of why young boys have an endless stream of uncles in their lives
As opposed to forcing people to stay in miserable relationships and men going to court for custody and giving up their jobs and careers.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
What a horrible thread.0

I don’t think this is a horrible thread.
It is a subject which often results in more heat than light but it is really important that our society feels free to discuss these things in a respectful way which so far I think the thread has.
We who live in the leafy suburbs or outside London need to listen to how some people in our country feel and equally the guy in London needs to take into account that what happens in his street isn’t universal.
bringing this stuff into the open and discussing it is better than ignoring it and hoping it will go away, or making it ‘off limits’.
As long that is as we behave nicely.0 -
All those people who wouldn't live in London if they were paid to - don't worry, I wouldn't waste the money.

That's right, you wouldn't, because we wouldn't take it if it was on offer
I'm not sure why some people get offended about others not wanting to do the same things they do. (Not aimed at you Twopints, or indeed to anyone in particular)
I'm sure there are many people who wouldn't want to live where I do. That's fine
A different opinion isn't a criticism of others choices, it's a good thing!
It's a good thing that we don't all want or like the same things - what a boring place the world would be if we did!
Some people like hustle and bustle, others prefer peace and quiet.
Some people a high flying career and earn lots of money, others prefer a better work/life balance and less stress, and are happy earning less in order to achieve this.
Neither choice is 'better', or 'right', just different.
Different, but equally valid.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -

There’s a massive difference between miserable relationships and the difficulties of most relationships.
The system as it is, in essence negates the need for compromise.
Now obviously my experiences skew my thinking; it’s how humans grow. However there is a fundamental issue, to my mind, of the state replacing traditional father roles. At the same time there is no automatic right to contact.0
