My house isn't selling, hardly any viewings and with us both carrying 2 mortgages it's just ridiculous.

All options have been explored so far, would qualify for a better mortgage rate but no point in aplying as house for sale, cannot remortgage to pay off any debts as house for sale.
I work in mortgages and with debt every day, there is no reason you can't have a further advance on your mtg, even if a property is up for sale. Have you asked your mtg companies. As long as the valuation they provide will allow, you could re-mtg. xx

Ps, i'm not a mtg advisor but this is my understanding.

Another thought, could you go intrest only on one / both or part of your mortgages?

    How you doing Mrs?

Alternating between laughing (hysteria I think) and crying.

I got knocked back for 2 loan applications today so even thats not an option.

OH is applying for a loan, quoted so far 10.9 %apr, he's trying a few others as well.

    It's all such a mess.

I'm going to speak to the mortgage people tomorrow re a remortgage ......though the phrase......cat in hell.....springs to mind.

Ta for the support guys, I would take to my bed but hey ho, got to keep going eh?

Oh triker I'm so sorry to hear of your woes.

Why is that house not selling? OK rural properties may not get snapped up as fast as town ones, but there are lots of people looking to move out too. Is that Estate Agent really doing everything they should, advertising in the right places etc etc.

Do you think the advice to drop the price is right? Could you manage on the lower amount?

Sorry, nothing constructive to add but sending lots of good house-selling vibes.

  • aww hugs for you T. I just got a remort through a site recc on her (see not great credit article) and the co I am with ignore the unsecured loans & CC's - thankfully all of it & I saved 50 a month but the early settlement fee means I wont be going anywhere for a while!!
Would it be worth reducing the house and to a degree where it will sell quickly - cutting losses at this stage? Just a thought although I appreciate that its a hard decision to make but may get you out of this hole.
HUge hugs for you both - do get an early night though as being tired makes you less able to cope....

Just wanted to add my support to you, you are not a failure and you can't resign your number until you put your name on the roll of honour, and you will!

I know it's hard when whatever you do it doesn't seem to make any difference but hang in there we are all crossing everything that the perfect buyer comes along this week.

Hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahha, oh how I throw my head back and laugh some more, I cannot remortgage because the house is for sale. Brilliant.

OH managed to get accepted for a loan last night but apr is 10.9%, so we're trying to look for more manageable methods.

Getting past the point of caring anymore.

I feel 'wierd', OH had chest pains so all this is really not worth it.......but I don't know what to do.

Oh Triker, I do sympathise. Money worries can make you physically ill, I've had that feeling light-headed thing too. I generally find going for a walk helps - is that something you can do? At lunch time?

That house MUST SELL. Get that agent to come up with some creative ideas. What kind of person would like to buy it and how do you advertise to them?

A friend of mine had difficulties selling her flat and eventually found a buyer by advertising in a surfing magazine. The flat was in a seaside village and noone locally wanted it, but some Londoner bought it as a weekend surfing base.

    Thinking of you xxxxx
