Hello all! I've started following FlyLady and am confused - how come the missions here differ from the website? I've even been good and read the first post but can't work it out :D

On the website it's kitchen detail cleaning and I've:
    1. Cleaned my oven thoroughly (using bicard, vinegar and soda crystals), put the shelves and glass sink to soak in bath with soda crystals overnight, and treated myself to an oven liner which will arrive on Friday!
    2. Managed to declutter a few things (my home is super minimalist, so this is fairly hard at this point!)
    3. Emptied out a few cupboards, cleaned everything, put it back again.
    4. Chucked some condiments in the fridge that have been there months, given it a wipe
    5. Cleaned most cupboard doors
    6. Shined my sink!!!

    Still to do:
    1. - Take inventory of freezer
    2. - Scrub utility room surfaces
    3. - Give floors a thorough scrub/mop
    4. - Dust/clean skirting boards
    5. - Dust corners
    6. - Clean on top of extracter hood and cupboards
  • Good Morning everyone an thanks for the welcome. I got a load of laundry done last night and it's now on the clothes rack drying. I am hoping it will be dry enough to get it ironed tonight.

Today's other plan is to get a food plan and shop done. Not having to do this at the weekend will make a big difference. I might try and get this done on my way home from work tonight but I have a meeting at the end of the day today so will be finishing late so need to see how it goes.

    Have a good day all.

Morning all, and welcome to all newbies. Stick with it and it becomes an addicitve habit! Oh and the flyladies themselves aren't such a bad lot either! :A

Many moons ago it was coming across the website that got me to this thread, which is nothing to do with the website that I guess you are looking at, M&M90. My take on it is that this thread is far more relaxed and forgiving - and no, housework isn't fun, whatever other places may try to tell you, and yes, RL does get in the way. This thread understands all that and more. I'm sure that one of the other flyladies can give a much better explanation though...

    Gentle hugs, LW. x

I'm off to work in a bit. The wm has just finished and DD's bedclothes are draped indoors to dry. Thanks to the terrible weather, I somehow seems to have managed to whizz round the bathrooms and our bedroom yesterday, so that was a real result. I have yet another school meeting tonight - DH was "volunteered" for it, but miraculously now is "busy".... I've said that he will have to cook dinner though - bets on how many excuses he can find to wriggle out of that one?

I'm really done with life now...

CF has driven my 15 year old to the brink of killing herself. Currently dealing with MIND and CAMHS neither of whom will see her!!! School, Police and the fallout he has left on social media.. Snapchat and facebook currently!
The cat left a live rat in my kitchen which has blown up my dishwasher and eaten the inlet pipe for the washer.. my cats are clearly not very clever!!!
The middle roon is still the shed.
Social services are a pile of prejudiced w**k

On a plus note my heart is fine and healthy because Moo thoroughly tested it last night.. saying she was going to kill herself and disappearing for 4.5 hours..

I am so very very done!!!

1 more act from CF and we are going to the police for harassment... whether it is me or Moo or any of the others!

Needless to say... nothing has been done other than purchasing rat traps.. even though I want to play whack-a-mole under the counters!

Anyone want to swap their nice peaceful life for my shower of shpoop one??

  • Thank you for welcoming me. I'll hopefully be flying properly from the weekend.

Last night was Pilates class, so didn't manage a lot else - set dishwasher for overnight, put away some clean laundry (that OH had sorts and left on my side of the bed), and FINALLY managed to complete a couple of outstanding admin tasks that have been hanging over me for a couple of weeks.

This morning, made my lunch - bought "ripe and ready" avocados on Friday last week, still a bit bullet-like today - think they were lying to me!

  • Oh pigpen I'm so so sorry to read your last post, it made me catch my breath & worry for you all.. how utterly scary & soul destroying those few hours must have been for you. I do hope someone pulls their finger out to help and actually get your family the support it needs. As for CF, hmm.. Hold out hope that someday soon the tide will turn & that you get to watch while he drowns under all the lies!
The police cannot be that ignorant as to what is happening.. Would they assist/support full restraining orders against CF.

I understand that you are not a hugger.. So I shall send my thoughts, spoons and the very best of wishes to you and your family & I so hope Moo comes to understand that dispite how she may feel at the moment the world is a much brighter place for her being in it..

    Today I managed:

Finish oven clean (scrubbing glass and shelves)
Removed 1 bin bag of stuff from DD's room. Unlike me she is a hoarder, but now at least everything is 'away' and not spilling out onto surfaces.
Scrubbed woodburner (cleaned glass, polished stove, polished slate until shiny and black)
    Cleaned the living room rug
Gave the sofa a de-hairing and good hoover under cushions, underneath etc
    Polished the dining room furniture
    Organised the spice cupboard
Listed a couple of things on freecycle
Now going to clean the kitchen and think that's me for the day.
