When we bought earlier this year, I automatically discounted any house for sale with Purple Bricks so on that basis I'd not get further than the first picture.
It may be a 'cut your nose off to spite your face' approach; but I'd read and heard of too many horror stories about how useless PB were, both for buying from and selling via.
Just my own opinion, the house itself looks fine, just slightly dated as others have mentioned.0 -
Agree with all the others.
The grass in the garden has clearly suffered some damage - wondering why and would be suspicious if house windows were open if I came viewing (ie maybe the damaged grass is down to a dog). So I would want to know if the house had a "doggy" smell and would be on the lookout for open windows attempting to mask that.
Photo 2 - nothing spells "unloved" so much as curtains not hung properly. My reaction to that = "Well if they can't even be bothered to sort out something as small as that left-hand curtain falling off......:cool:".0 -
It's not a curtain hanging half off, it's the globe of the light fitting giving that idea. I thought the same myself and then enlarged the photo....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

My only experience of PB so far is a viewing last weekend, "agent" was late (though he did phone us). Didn't actually introduce himself so not clear for a while whether he was the vendor or the agent. Seemed in the end he was a random out of work raah but at least he wasn't driving a BMW.
Had answer to everything - :rotfl: particularly the price when we queried itand why the house needed secondary glazing over double glazing in a small village

To be quite frank its not priced for the work required and I'd skip over it as the price is set where even a conversation wouldn't happen, I don't see where the all but 30k appreciation has occurred when it looks like little has changed since it was last purchased.0

I don't see much wrong with it. Some people on here are saying it looks dated - but it looks clean and cared for and someone could move in and make changes in slow-time if they felt they had to.
I think a better photo of the back garden would be beneficial - it looks like the decking has a gap in it before it meets the path? If it's broken, fix it - but if it's just a quirk of the angle the photo was taken from then another photo needs to be taken.
Agree with others about the small table and chairs. Could you borrow/freecycle a bigger table and 4 chairs, because there's certainly room for it.

I have avoided purple bricks advertised houses. When I see their logo, I think one or a combination of the following:
- Vendor wasn't happy with the local agents price so have made their own up
- Vendor is looking to save money so no chance of me getting a reasonable response on an offer - They will have gone the no fee up front which means their rubbish conveyancing company will be involved.
I accept that all of the above may not be true but I just dont trust the brand to even want to get into a discussion with such a large transaction.0 -
I would view it if I was looking in the area but I wouldn't consider an offer anywhere near the asking price as I would want to factor in having to carpet practically all of it.
If I went in and saw large rugs covering vast swathes of the laminate I may not notice quite how desperate for carpet it is.0 -
I looks to me probably one of the worst positioned houses on the estate. North facing garden, On a corner, overlooked by others, tiny garden, not enough parking.
The sort of house that would sell easily in a boom when things sell quickly, but in a buyers market, the buyers have time to seek out and find a house in a better position.
Nothing particularly "wrong" with it apart from that, it is what it is, but not for me.0
