Suggestions for a PPI Claims Company

Normally this is something i would take on myself but following a recent stroke this is not something i can do on my own as our (Mrs & I) financial affairs are a wee bit complicated, so we are looking for a claims company to take our case on.
I was going to use "The Claims Guys" but after looking at some reviews i don't think i will bother, so does anyone have any suggestions of a decent company to use?

No, just no. You will have to interact with the claims company in exactly the same way as you would with the people who sold you the PPI.0

I do have account numbers but it's beyond me doing it myself due to my stroke i do not think the way i used to and it's all too complicated for me now, sure it may be easy for you but walk a mile in my shoes comes to mind here.
Also many of the companies who we used to deal with have been taken over, so we have to find out who has taken them over.
If i cant find a company to take the work on then we will not be able to make a claim0 -
I"m afraid if you can't fill out a lenders complaint form, you won't be able to fill out a claims company complaint form, PLUS their letters of authority AND endure the street of dealing with them chasing you up for answers.
So best to either get a friend to complete the forms or let it go.0 -
You do realise that all a CMC does is send a form to the lender in question. They send it to the free-of-charge to use complaints address and its handled by the same staff and process. The form can be downloaded from this site, the FOS or the website of the firm in question in most cases.I do have account numbers but it's beyond me doing it myself due to my stroke i do not think the way i used to and it's all too complicated for me now, sure it may be easy for you but walk a mile in my shoes comes to mind here.
You have to explain to the CMC the same things you would have to explain to the company you are complaining to.
Maybe you should try resolver as that would allow you plenty of time to type in your complaint and circumstances rather than deal over the phone.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). For the sake of a few self written letters (template available on the forum) and the price of a few stamps you will save yourself paying out 30% of your claim in "fees" for a claims company doing exactly the same thing with the information you have given them .
It's a very simple process , no need to pay anyone else to do it.
The forum has a full guide , including a free tool to generate the letters , here

Do not use claims firms, {Text removed by MSE Forum Team} - you need to understand the way the complaints process works
If you complain directly, you provide the details of the accounts, your complaint reasons etc and post them off and the firm responds

That is literally the only difference - either you fill in the forms and post them or you fill in the forms and the claims firm posts them - either way you need to do the work. Do you not have family or friends who could help?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I see my post was removed, (...rolls eyes)
I'm not spamming or advertising, I've been on this site for 12 years,
The OP was not asking for a list of reasons why they are doing things wrong, they were simply asking for a recommendation ONLY and I gave one based on the company i'm currently using right now,
I didn't have ANY account details at all, I vaguely knew the names of a couple of companies that I 'may' have used years ago and they did all the work,
Also, believe it or not, some of us are actually quite busy day to day and I was happy to use their service (which is no where near the 30% fee randomly plucked out of the air),0 -
So you could have "vaguely" made the complaints yourself for free.
That's all the claims company are doing with a scattergun approach . Send to all , hope they get a positive reply. You can do the same in 5 minutes using the online mse tool. Even if you are "very busy"Ex forum ambassador

...Yes, I could have also have washed my car for free on the weekend too, but i didnt, I got someone else to do it, and they only used soap and water too,
Just checked the online guide on here;
Don't know if you even took out PPI?
First, you can try finding out by going back through all your old loan and mortgage statements and checking for any mention of an insurance fee or product to cover your payments if you lost your job through accident, sickness or unemployment.
didn't have them!
Look for something that may be called 'payment cover', 'protection plan', 'ASU', 'loan protection', 'retail payment protection', 'loan care' or similar.
Don't have them so have nothing to look at
Don't have any paperwork at all? Check your credit report
If you don't have any documentation or simply can't remember which lenders you've borrowed from, don't worry – you can check your credit report. It lists loans, mortgages or other debts that were live within the last six years, even if they're now closed.
Well I just claimed for a loan I didn't know I had from 2003 so that would not have shown would it?
Sadly, though, it's not quite that simple – while you'll be able to see which lenders you've had accounts with, your credit report WON'T tell you if the accounts had PPI or not. But at least you'll know which lenders to check with.
...well that's useful to know, glad that took me 5mins and still none the wiser,!0
