  • Or cover the full cost of rebooking with jet blue (though we’d prefer another night in Barbados) :rotfl:

Is there a flight in your original return date

I thought you didn’t want to take an extra day off work

Agree flights can be changed/cancelled, but this is a complete change of date. Surely you can just tell a customer to ‘suck it up’ and pay when this happens. Again it’s virgin who have caused the issue, not us so why should we be out of pocket at all?

Yes we are AI in barbs, but not in NY so we’d lose out there. We also booked premium economy on the way home, so not sure if virgin could do that. There is another spanner for the works :rotfl:

Yeah it’s pricey! As I said, once in a lifetime!
If you stick to the original departure date from the U.K. you won’t lose anything in NY.

You won’t need any spending money for the extra day at the end

I think they should foot the cost for the additional night

Unlikely they will pay for a £750 night...

Have you asked if you can go somewhere cheaper that they may pay for on the last ( extra night)
  • I object to virgin presuming that booking an extra day off is fine. But I can do if necessary.

If we pay halves for an extra day, where does that money come from? Spending money for NY, so yes we do lose out!
  • Again, why should we suffer and compromise on the final day of what is an extremely expensive holiday that we’ve booked to be top class just to suit Virgin?

I have asked twice if there is a flight from Barbados on your original return date that Virgin could get you on

It’s hardly suffering when you would have had your originally booked holiday.

I get the impression you don’t want any kind of compromise
  • There are no other virgin flights. There is only one the following day. I did respond earlier saying we’d booked premium economy on the return flight, so it’d be difficult for virgin to get us in with another airliner.

And you’re right, I don’t want to compromise, tell me why I should? Virgin have caused this, not us. Virgin cancelled the flight. Virgin advised us to book internal flights ourselves. Virgin want to change the dates. We want to fly out on the day we booked, and back on the day we booked. Virgin cannot honour our booking, so they should accept they need to pay to rectify this, and we shouldn’t have to pay an extra penny, do you not agree?
