Hey,
I am new to all this credit stuff and don't know how to fix this problem! Please help!
I have been locked out of my MSE Credit Club account, I believe due to some issues with my address.
All my mail (including bank statements etc) goes to my mothers house.
The reason I send all my mail to my mothers is due to the nature of my job, I still live with her off and on at various points throughout the year. When I am not at my mums, I am privately renting (flat sharing) in London.
Therefore, rather than have the hassle of changing my address on everything all the time which gets confusing and things get left behind, I send everything to my mums, who will forward on to me if important or I get it from her when I go back.
I think when I last logged into MSE Credit Club, it asked me to input my address and absent mindedly I put the address of my current flat share in London.
Now it is asking me to prove I live here by adding debit card details that match the address, but my card is registered to my mums house!
It doesn't allow me to go in further and amend any details to fix this. Which perhaps wouldn't be a huge problem if I didn't need to make a balance transfer.
I applied for a balance transfer today with Santander, which came back almost immediately as declined due to information provided by Experian. As my credit rating was healthy the last time I got a MSE CC report, I can only assume this is due to the mess up with the address details.
What do I do?!

Entering incorrect details on the credit club site will not stop you getting credit.
Your address needs to be the address you reside at and are registered on the electoral roll at.
Which address is that?0 -
My electoral roll is registered to my mothers. Literally everything is registered to my mothers.
If it's not the address, how can I find out what is stopping me being able to do a balance transfer? Or was it just with Santander? Should I try with a different company?0 -
Can you reset your access to CC with the 'forgotten password' link?
Your score does indicate whether you will/won't be accepted for credit.
Try an eligibility checker like this one https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/eligibility/credit-cards/
Do you check your other credit report from Call Credit and Equifax via Noddle and Clearscore too?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
