The original Dysons were bulletproof, we have one from the 90s which is still going, the more recently made models seem to have a far shorter lifespan.
Thy Dyson's now been relegated to upstairs use only as it's no good for laminate floors, our main vacuum is now a Miele C3 cat and dog which is brilliant.0 -
I have just switched from Dyson to Shark. I think the Shark is fantastic. Does a great job, better than the Dyson It’s the liftaway one, which is really useful, makes stairs really easy.0

Surely they have a warranty? All Hoovers have at least a year.. no idea about Titan.
The Hoover vacumn cleaner is now working again, after I found and cleared a blockage.
The Titan said that it had a warranty, but this was only valid with original purchase reciept which I no longer have.0 -
Titan is a Screwfix own-brand - isn't there anything on your SF account?House_owner wrote: »The Titan said that it had a warranty, but this was only valid with original purchase reciept which I no longer have.
(Same Chinese rebrand as B&Q's "McAllister", I believe.)0 -

My Basil Hoover has given me 20 years loyal service

Another vote for Shark (Lift Away). I've had two Dysons and the Shart beats them hands down.
Piggywinkle - thanks! My stair brush has stopped spinning and I can't figure out why. I didn't think to see if customer service could help. I'll get on to them tomorrow :beer:0 -
It sounds like you need a wet-and-dry vac...paulandjanine wrote: »...and the Shart beats them hands down.0 -
Hated our Henry. Cumbersome and suction very average.
I then got a Dyson pet which was SO much better, but I would not buy another. Just don't like the build design.
I think my next will be a Shark, although Dyson still going strong after 8 years so awaiting its death still!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Only really owned Dyson and Miele in recent years, never really liked the Dyson too much, pretty weak suction after a while no matter how well I looked after the filters, Miele has been excellent on the other hand.0
