Vacuum cleaners

Can someone recommend a reliable vacuum cleaner for me?
I have had two die on me within a year:eek:
A Titan one from screwfix and now a Hoover whirlwind one.
All filters/ bags etc kept clean, took the Titan one apart and still couldn’t see the issue.
previous vaccumns I have had have lasted at least 10 years, so what is the matter with modern ones. Only ever gets used for light domestic use.

Wrong board but I'd suggest a Miele, they can be expensive compared with cheaper ones but I'm on my 11th year of mine and it's still going strong.0

Thankyou, I meant to post on the DIY board, must of clicked on the wrong one!0

Miele are good, but can be pricey. Wouldn't touch a Dyson. The shark ones are supposed to be fantastic, I am thinking of trying one.
However my Henry has been going strong since 2010, cost £100 and new parts are easy to come by. I clean houses for a living and it deals with being hauled around fine. When it finally dies I will definitely replace it with another.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Definitely another vote here for Henry hoover. Very good suction and never seems to go wrong.0

Don't muck about, just get a Henry. Cheap, bombproof, effective - and made in the UK.0

Our Dyson has lasted 17 years. The motor failed last year, but it was a half hour job to take it apart and put a new one in with the aid of some YouTube videos. We'll probably get another 17 years out of it now.0

A Henry anyday, they're cheap, cheerful, work and last for ages.0

We have a Gtech vacuum cleaner so no plugging into the mains to use and very light weight.
Depends on size and type of property you own and floor covering.
Tiles, vinyl or thick carpets ?0
