Ee Mis Selling Warning
I am very disgusted with Ee and wanted to warn others.
Yesterday my Oh went browsing in the Ee store for a new phone that she wanted next month.
She explained she wanted an s8 or s9 and was interested in the specs of the cameras.
I then find she is sold an a6 after being told it is far superior to the s8. She is also signed into a new contract paying more than the price for an s8 with less data.
We now have a battle as there is no cooling off period with ee stores.
How can they get away with ripping ppl off in such a way. Are they not regulated?

She's an adult. It was her decision. Shops are there to sell. Caveat Emptor.0

this is not mis-selling as per your claim.
Your friend walked out of the shop with an A6 not an S8 or9 in her hand after signing up0 -
my grand mother had a similar issue with EE. She just wanted a basic mobile phone for emergency calls and they sold her the latest smartphone with unlimited everything.
They were very pushy with her and the store refused to help when she went back with a friend.
The best thing to do is to contact EE directly and explain the situation.
They should help but if they don't simply nag them on social media until they do.
Its always best to buy phones online as it gives you time to compare deals and avoid those very pushy staff.
I hope you get it sorted. EE are not the best of firms for customer service0 -

Shop lies about specs of phone to someone who doesnt know better (most people who are not tech freaks wouldnt) so they can sell a phone which costs them sod all because its crap but bump up the price by putting the customer on an expensive contract rather than sell the better phone that the customer originally asked for on a cheaper contract.
If thats not mis-selling then god knows what is.
Simple fact. EE like ALL other mobile providers are after one thing and thats the contents of your bank account. They will and do tell customers anything at all including barefaced lies to get customers to part with their cash in return for as little as EE can possibly get away with. Its unfortunate but its the way of the world these days. Not made better by the number of posters who act like its perfectly fine. It might be normal but its not fine.0 -

Generally it's better to live in the real world and ensure you don't fall into the traps which are and always will be there as long as humans rule the planet.0 -
It's a fact of life that when you cross the threshold into a phone shop you enter a shark-infested pool of low-lives. If you really must, go to look at handsets to compare features, but never, ever talk to staff - it will cost you dearly. The odds are you will know more about the handsets than they do.0

When did this happen, veggiegirl? I’m sure that EE has never offered unlimited everything so it’s not likely to have been EE.0 -
I’m not sure if I’ve found the right place but I have an issue with EE.
I feel I have been mis sold mybupgrade with EE.
I have recently moved to Kuwait to work and because I was due an upgrade I though it would be a good idea to upgrade to the new iPhone XS Max as it comes with the new dual sim technogoly. This would be ideal as I wanted to keep my uk number and it will allow me to also use a local Kuwait sim.
So I went to the EE store explained my situation. I am upgrading because I need to use my phone in Kuwait and want to keep my UK number and the dual sim function is ideal.
I asked serveral questions about how it works and what I needed to do etc. And after the chat it was made clear to me that all I had to do is get an esim from a network provider in Kuwait they all have them. No problems. Accept I wasn’t made aware that I can’t use the dual sim function as my new phone is locked to EE for 6 months. But I wasn’t told this. I also wasn’t made aware that I could move kept my current handset as it has now been more than 6 months so I could unlock it to take any sim,
So my question is after asking enough questions to feel confident that my new phone was going to work in Kuwait and for it not to work was I miss sold an expensive contact? Do I have a leg to stand on?0 -

Then, the last place to go for reliable advice about your situation is a network shop, EE, CPW or any other, putting yourself in the hands of voracious salesmen who can see you've done no research yourself, don't have a clue, and they can tell you, or not tell you, anything.
So yes, if you like, you were obviously miss-sold, but unfortunately you signed up without further consideration and now you're stuck. It's going to take a lot of persistence, opening and escalating formal complaint, perhaps using social media and EE community forum, finally going to Ombudsman Service: Communication if EE refuses to budge. Are you already using the phone and/or in Kuwait?Evolution, not revolution0
