How much do you spend on clothes for yourself and your family per year?

Still wondering what would be useful for JackieO and I'm remembering her comment about a noticeable number of people being affected as to what clothes they wear after such health care treatment.
Which was closely followed by asking myself what I would do. I'd think "Well there's loads of us in this position - there should be guidance/help on this. For instance - leaflets/websites indicating styles of clothing/suitable manufacturers of this clothing/etc. So I'll ask the NHS for this".
I'd then find out who the appropriate person was to send an email to re "aftercare" or somesuch title and send them an email asking them to "Please could you send me appropriate literature and links to appropriate websites for guidance on clothing to buy after this treatment and names of manufacturers/shops I can use to buy this clothing from. Thank you" and wait for their appropriate helpful response.
(Though I admit to being cynic enough that it wouldn't unduly surprise me if the thought hasn't crossed their mind and/or they cba to produce such a guide). But I'd know they were due to produce one - and I'd ask for it in a "confident expecting to receive it" sort of way. That would either produce details of such a guide (which they hadnt bothered to give out before:cool:) or, if they don't do it yet, put pressure on them to produce such a guide.0 -

Aren't you concerned about the almost £2k of 'uncategorised'?
Or isn't it really 'uncategorised'?0 -
My work is in an office but I'm not an important worker or aspiring to climb any ladders so the office uniform for me is tailored-type M & S or similar trousers, in black or grey, mostly sourced from charity shops, plus tailored blouses with three-quarter length sleeves, also from chazzers.
One pair of black shoes at a time, one pair of sandals for summer, and that's sufficient. Doesn't cost a lot, certainly wouldn't want to spend much on workplace clothing.
I think a lot us over-think and over-buy clothing, perhaps labouring under the impression that others notice or give a hoot what we are wearing. Mostly, people are busy about their own affairs and paying little attention to yours, including your attire.
If clothing is acceptable to the surroundings, it tends to disappear into the background and allow the person to shine through.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

This is the problem if you analyze with other systems. I know where this came from and will leave it there. This category is an anomaly. Previous years it has been zero. It came about by moving money. I think that is the best way to explain it. I shall just ignore it.0 -

Grey Queen, I agree, very few people notice or care what others are wearing, mind you I was chuffed this week when one of the nurses asked me where I got my top from as it was a nice style.
Money, I think the NHS has enough calls on its finances without having to provide fashion advice.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

I find that the only way to really motivate myself is to scrutinise my credit card balance near-daily (I don't use cash). Often the distance of a few hours between spending and it appearing online dissipates any feelings of joy I get from the purchase and by that time I can view my expenditure a bit more objectively!
My banks app also does this, its great for seeing where money goes without the need for spreadsheets/notebooks, and its instant, with money spent but not yet asked for by the retailer showing in "future" so no overspending what you haven't got
Mine is the Danske Bank which isn't available in England0 -
