Help Needed - Wrong Reg Cannot Lot In

Hi,
I know someone who found a ticket on a car which said they needed to pay 100 pound as the car was not correctly parked in the bay. UKPC.
I have read the sticky and many of the threads but am a still unsure of some things. The ticket has the wrong reg, by one letter, so when the person tries to log on to the relevant site to appeal, the person cannot get on using the actual reg of the car as it is all recorded based on the wrong ref which is shown on ticket.
Obviously the photos show the real reg.
Secondly where it says the charge is 100 pound, but if paid early it will be reduced, you cannot make out the lower amount. Its not properly visible.
The person does not know what to do as time is running out to appeal. Should the person log in with the reg shown on the ticket, even though it is not the reg on the car?
Hope someone can help. Thanks

In the heading, just put the PCN Number and real VRN number but don't point out the error. Say nothing about that.
Use the usual template (BTW I changed it yesterday!). Use the new one.
As long as the 28 days would not be up by Weds?
Oh, and what happened when that person complained to the Retail park? Easiest way to get any private PCN cancelled.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Really appreciate the help. The 14 days specified for a lower amount is up tomorrow. Is it still ok for the appeal to be done on Monday by post?
When you say certificate, you mean proof of postage?
The person has not appealed to the retail park, but will advise they should do.
Thank you very much.0 -
Hi, as mentioned the 14 days the ticket references is up tomorrow. Any thoughts on what to do? Should the person just submit online despite the reg being incorrect?
Also, the person is thinking of just doing nothing, given that the notice to keeper has not been received and the reg on the ticket is incorrect. though presumably the company will eventually look at the photo and send it to the keeper....0 -
Didn't the first reply you received help?
Forget the so called '14 day discount'.
Go for the 100% MSE discount instead.0 -

Yes it did, but I just wondered about the 14 days being up tomorrow.
Also, is it worth just not doing anything and seeing if the NTO will actually arriv, given the reg is wrong, albeit, they have photos.0 -

My thoughts are you missed this in the NEWBIES thread:Q - ''My PCN says the 'fine' will go up after 14 days, so why are you suggesting I wait before appealing?''
A - FORGET THE '14 DAYS JITTERS'. THE SO-CALLED 'DISCOUNT' IS A BRIBE NOT TO APPEAL - YOU CANNOT DO BOTH - BUT WE ACHIEVE 100% DISCOUNT IN ALMOST EVERY CASE.
Not sure why you were rushing anyway...the advice is LET THEM GET YOUR APPEAL ON DAY 26.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK thank you. Just wondering though, given that the NTO had not been received, doesnt sending in an appeal indicate the owner was the driver i.e. otherwise how would the keeper know about the PCN unless they had found it on their car. In which case, maybe its worth seeing if they will ever send the NTO given they have slightly wrong reg.
Also is it worth pointing out in the appeal letter that the PCN does not atually have a reg no. that matches the car?0 -

It is thought by some that PPCs purposely misspell a VRM to encourage a response from the driver.
When the driver responds with something like "you got the reg no wrong. the car I was driving is..."
Bingo!! they now know the identity of the driver.0
