Usually I just click the link too. But today is not the same. How do I know if the email is not from VO?? Should I run a virus/ malware scan now?

I got an email from VO this morning saying they are putting a tracking cookie on our computers when we next log in.

Does anyone know is this a form of spyware? I'm not keen on having a cookie tracking my every move and to be honest I rarely ever click on internet advertising anyway.

I suppose it's not much different to all the other information we give them as we actually complete the surveys. I've been doing these surveys for 3 years now and if they put together all the info I have given away over that time it would be very significant. I think the payoff for being paid for opinions is that we have to give away information about ourselves and our lives.

I know that they're currently doing a 'survey' with Nielsen Ratings (I think that's what it's called), as I've installed it. It runs in the background and you don't need to do anything. I'm not a lover of things monitoring my viewing, but they pay £3 a month for it. Could that be what it's for?

I signed up for that, but nothing showing in my VO account, do you, or anybody else know how long till it shows in your account?

Valued Opinions is safe! I signed up to that Nielsen Netratings thing a few months back and I was credited fine. All it ever did was sit in the background. I however trust this site as recently I reached £10 credit, swapped for amazon voucher and claimed no probs! I doubt that they would want to harm any of our computers and lose their good reputation.
