Oh forgot to say. no the doctor did not write the note in my nephews presence.
The doctor only did that with the first note issued.
My nephew was told any further sick notes did not require him to actually see the doctor in person.

You lost your chance at genuine replies when you said you hoped your daughter died in a terrorist attack.

How you are not banned I don’t know...

The doctors note covered my nephew until this coming Monday (8th October).
He was due to call at the practice to collect another note on Monday from reception.
He did not need to see the doctor every time he got another note.
He just telephoned the practice and collected the note 3 days later.

Because doctors regularly dole out sick notes without bothering to see the patient. Is this where your trolling starts to up the ante?

In fairness the only time I've had a sicknote the GP didn't want to see me (it was a dental issue which required surgery and by the time my self certificate ran out I was still recovering from the GA) - was told by the receptionist I didn't need a face to face appointment, and the GP rang me asked if a week was ok and told me to pick it up) - so while I can't see it being a 'everytime from now on just ring and ask' it isn't an impossibility

When I have been off work with work-related stress and/or anxiety - admittedly only twice in my life - the GP has insisted on meeting with me in person before every Fit Note renewal.

I know that team member who I managed through two periods of LTS linked to mental illness for which she required medication, also had to see her GP every time for a Fit Note renewal.

I think you are missing the point. Even if this were genuine, the OP has cried wolf before and now nobody believes them. However, your situation is different. "See" is a relative term. The doctor phoned you personally, spoke to you and knew that you had had surgery. To be fair, my GP did the same thing for three months over the summer because I had had major surgery.

To believe that someone presents with a mental health disorder which a doctor then decides to issue unlimited fit notes for without ever seeing the patient suggests a scary level of incompetence and neglect, or the OP cannot be believed. Given the posting history, the latter is the most obvious answer. If that isn't the case, it's tough luck.... taking the proverbial had consequences, so nobody is likely to waste their time.

Sounds like your nephew will be fine. Someone has made an allegation that he forged a sick note but it doesn’t appear he did therefore he won’t have any problems.

Can your nephew not simply contact his GP and request that a confirmation letter be sent to the employer to confirm the details of the sickness?

this was my thought The GP presumably keeps a record of any letters issued, if they wrote to say which dates they issued fit notes, and how long each one was for, that ought to show what was originally provided, and that any alterations happened after your nephew provided the note.

No it doesn't. It shows what the doctor allegedly put on a fit note. It does not prove that note wasn't altered and submitted in the altered form. It doesn't for one minute prove that the probably fictional nephew hasn't submitted an unaltered fit note.
