Robbed in hotel room. Who is liable?

Today he was due to fly out to join me and our daughter on holiday. £150 and €350.
We have four lots of insurance that cover the items that were taken but it’s the complete incomprehensible fact that you think you are safe in a five star hotel and you are not and there is NO apology from the hotel or acknoledgement that they have done anything wrong!
Due to the attack he has had to stay in London for another night to complete another interview by the police. the hotel have said they’ll ‘find him a room’ in another location.
I’m just appalled. We don’t need compensation we need an explanation.
What do you want explained? You've been told both your husband and Hotel are not to blame.0 -

He doesn't have to stay another night, it's his choice to do that the police can work round him.
If he wants an explanation I suggest he tries restorative justice if the police find the offender. It's not down to the hotel.0 -
An executive gentlemen is a professional businessman. I didn’t want you thinking he was a jack the lad on a business jolly after a huge number of pints of lager!
Does it make any difference? A robbery is a robbery. Little bit snobby if I must say so.
Anyway, as pointed out, the hotel did nothing wrong, neither did your husband.0 -
What on earth are you talking about??? If you don’t have anything useful to say shut up.
I’m not hysterical- what I am very surprised about the rude assumptions posters have made. My understanding was this was a helpful forum.
I thank serious posters for their comments. I’m in Spain and my husband is in London, his plans delayed and beaten up by Russian male thugs. I think I have the right to be a little upset and concerned
Some may come to the conclusion that wouldn't happen if you don't use escorts.0 -

They won't acknowledge they have done anything wrong in case that counts as an admission of liability.
The hotel would only be liable if you can prove on the balance of probability that they have been negligent.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Sorry to hear about your husband being robbed. It must be very distressing for both of you. Unfortunately, robbery can happen to anyone, anywhere. All you can do is keep your wits about you and learn from this.
I suppose you didn't hear about the alleged robbery of Kim Kardashian at gunpoint in a luxury Paris hotel. She says £10 million pounds of jewellery was stolen.
I'm sorry also for the rudeness you have experienced from other posters. Particularly, making fun of your use of English. I don't know if English is your first language or not, but a great many posters on here write poorly. It is impolite to comment on it.
As for liability, unless the hotel advertised a level of security that was not provided, there is no breach of contract, and I can't see that the hotel is liable for anything.
Once again, sorry for the experience. Your husband in particular must be very shaken.0 -
I wonder how OP knows they were Russian.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

I see posts mocking her for being snobby with her use of language to elevate her husband unnecessarily, nothing about her language ability. You appear to be the only person who has brought that up.0 -

I imagine he is guessing they were Russian based on the language they used when speaking to each other. He may even have taken their features into account. Does it matter?0 -
