Yes I think you are right after the repair work. Lots of other cracks appeared from no where.. one handyman had told me that he will do dot and dab plaster board on top but I didn't find it solution as felt without repair the inner cracks the outer layer will not be stable. I wasn't sure about it. So, dot and dab plaster boarding is right for this type of cracking?0

In current scenario I still can do dot and dab without fearing of damage of existing cracks.0

If anyone also advise me please if I can claim for insurance for such issue. As my most of the savings I've used on purchasing the property and spent all my savings on repair work.0

Where to start... the original blockwork joints are sh ite looks like they were done by a 10 year old. The lintel above the window is supported by a brick stood on its end and is only covering half the width of the brick.
The repairs! are also sh ite, all the plaster should have been taken off the wall, floor to ceiling, the bad joints should have been repaired properly with cement mortar, expanding foam, great for filling gaps - zero structural strength.
Solution, get a proper builder in get the blockwork fixed properly, get some proper support for the window lintel, not just the old stuff stuck back in with foam.
Finish with dot and dab plasterboard.
How do you pay for it? how's your credit rating? could you get a credit card with a big enough limit on it?
Unfortunately its going to need doing, so you might need to live on beans on toast for a few months and walk to work?0 -

Thanks Tony. Possible for you to give me an estimate how much it would cost to work on the solution.0

Looking at the repointing you have had done I would say that it's not connected to the problems on the inner skin. The person that did the work could do with a few lessons on how to use the angle grinder and colour matching mortar.0

The guy who did repointing and who did inner walls are two different. The guy who did inner walls after refilling them said I have to charge you for the rework on that I told him you haven't fixed the problem so how can i pay for the job which did resolve the cracks. So I called up another guy who did articulation and repointing of bricks where the cracks appeared.
[QzUOTE=stuart45;74863528]Thermalite blocks are well known for suffering from shrinkage cracking, which is why some builders are using concrete blocks for the inner skin. It is worse when wet blocks in the winter are used and they crack as they dry out.
Normally the cracking occurs quite early in the life of the house, but sometimes when a new occupent heats the house at a higher temperature for longer periods than the previos ones the cracks can appear. It often happens above the frames which is a weak spot in the wall.[/QUOTE]PLease can anyone help me to upload the photos for clear understanding for you guys.. I tried but not working out. which website I have to upload the photos to?

Regards a price for the work, as a bricklayer I would probably do the block repairs on day work as it's difficult with jobs like that to know exactly how much work needs doing on it till you start.0
