Cant really tell a lot from that, could just be something a simple as a bad plaster job.
Any photos of the outside walls?0 -

So it would appear the plasterer needed to use expanding foam because the builder didn't want to use mortar? Or know how to lay blocks.
Based on the pictures I'd say you have some kind of fundamental structural issue, and the block laying is likely to be a significant contributing factor.
If it was me then I'd probably want to have the coatings stripped off the walls (inside and out), and have a professional inspection to determine the best way forward."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Should be able to get on this link

A lot of Thermalite block walls look like that when the plaster is hacked off.
Some pics of the exterior would be useful.0 -
Will click some tomorrow morning and upload.0

i am not in the building game, but the foam here is not the way to do it. If he put foam around a window for air tightness and I would not have much to say

I would look at image IMG-20180910-WA0003 and think structural engineer, not builder not plasterer. Funny that he did not spay foam that corner? From the engineers report progress forward with trades folk0 -
It looks like it could have been put up in the 70's, when AAC blocks first became popular for the inner skins, as it looks typical of the times with poor jointing, bricks used as the closer blocks in the corners and a few concrete blocks thrown in, all have different movements.
I've seen quite a few walls with shrinkage cracking even before they were plastered.
A spread told me that he was advised by British Gypsum to use dot and dab on Thermalites and not wet plaster because of their problems.
Shrinkage cracks are normally the same width the full length of the cracks.
If the plaster is over 2 coats of cement render, then banging all of it off would weaken a poorly built wall like that one.0
