Marcus may be alive but can someone wake him up to pay my interest
Opened and funded on 27th Sept and as of 21:14 today ... still no interest.0 -

It does seem bizarre though that whether ‘significant’ funds are either inherited, earned or simply saved over the years, that the source of any savings or investment needs to be declared. Isn’t an individual entitled to any privacy these days?
There are a lot of checks that banks need to do to try to combat money laundering and some of them inconvenience us law abiding citizens but they’re there for a reason. We are entitled to privacy to an extent but unfortunately a small number of accounts are used for illicit purposes and so all accounts are constantly monitored.0 -

Interest is calculated daily, and applied to your account monthly on the date your account was opened. So if you opened your account on 27 September, your interest will be paid on the 27th of each month. When that date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, the interest will be credited by the end of the next business day.0 -
Damn! I though banks closed at 5pm .... you mean have to stay up until midnight?
Only kidding - Honest!0 -

I’ve noticed a few hours delay normally, but generally when I use faster payments between the major banks, they are mostly instantaneous - even at the weekends.
The £1 test appeared in my Marcus account Sunday afternoon, about a day after I opened the account and sent it. I then sent the rest of the money I wanted to transfer and that was there in about 10 minutes.0 -
It's not just you - I haven't got my interest yet either.
Mind you, there's still an hour and twenty one minutes of the "next business day" left yet, I suppose.
It would be embarrassing if the interest isn’t credited on time, reminds me of CHIP Savings - good idea but who’s never heard of a half reputable ‘bank’ not paying out on time ?
Well at least Marcus are FSCS protected, I wonder if that covers missing interest?
CHIP came good in the end, albeit a little late. I must admit though it’s concerning especially from a very reputable American bank. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

I opened a Marcus account expecting a 1.5% savings rate and my account actually shows a 1.49% rate; this feels like a misleading rate or sharp practise to me 😩0
