And that doesn’t include many more posts on four or five other Marcus threads and on some Santander 1.50% threads.

It is a bit of a watershed though as the Santander 1.50% rate has finally been matched on easy access (excluding higher rates on much smaller amounts on current accounts).

Santander have a 1.5% easy access savings account now??
  • Interesting the problem isn't unique. Just checked my old account and the £1 has not returned, so vanished by (black) magic. Don't know what GSM means; can you enlighten me please?

It was a reference to the rate on their fee based 123 current account.

I've just opened my account. It took a few minutes. I transferred a test amount which also took a few minutes. I'm pleased with how stress-free it was and getting 1.5% interest and unlimited withdrawals.
  • nice quick account opening and better rates than elsehwere!

Just as a matter of interest, how long have people waited for the account to be opened,if they have asked for extra forms of identification.
  • Tip: when asked what the source of income is, saying inheritance will result in a request for documentation it will be hard/impossible to supply.
