  • Fayolle, I can't imagine there is ever a right time for shelling beans, but seems early even though I am a morning person

Flying will happen today I hope as not at work until 4.30 so no excuses. So far

    Bed made
    WM on
    Kitchen table cleared
    Bins brought in
    Recycling out
    Cat feeder topped up
    Scrap paper cut for lists
Dinner sorted, left overs from last night and OH will be late home as he's doing diy for DD1
Appointment made for someone to come and quote for pellet stove(s)

So time to get on with some serious sorting or cleaning, but coffee first but will do something from the paperwork pile with it.

Have a good day all, see you later.
  • Struggling today, body not cooperating.
That said, lots done yesterday, flying, stuff to charity shop, found new (to me) small chair for front room. Furniture removed from said front room ready for carpet coming on Monday, still have to strip and remove old carpet and dismantle the old sofa that has broken (& took 2 large men 35 mins to get in the house) Hence the decision to dismantle!
Also working over the weekend so need to not over do it or body will go on strike! Thankfully both my DS's will be home on Monday so I shall be using their strength to assist with various tasks :T
Will have another coffee then attempt to shift my BTM!:rotfl:

Hope you've made some progress by now, Honey Bear. It's so frustrating, isn't it? Get to bed early tonight if you can, and hopefully tomorrow it will only take half the time you think.

I wasn't intending to mow the lawn today, but I did it. And Rosie has had four short walks, rather than one long one. Two of them were in the forest, where we went for a cafe lunch, so she was bounding about in the undergrowth and chasing squirrels :D

Choir practice tonight, and I have a crate-on-wheels full of stuff to take for the toys/books/children's clothes stall at the Autumn Fayre tomorrow and the same amount again in the morning. Fli-i-i-ing...
  • Really, really tired today and busy from the moment I walked in the office door until the moment I walked out again (but on the bright side, I can now add disassembling laminators, removing accumulation of A3 sheets so [strike]crappy[/strike] thin and cheap when they concertina up at the thought of going through the rollers, even though the heat is perfectly set, reassembling and getting back into working order within 5 minutes). Did I ever mention that, after designing to a [changing] brief, printing, adjusting, reprinting, resizing, reprinting, trimming, arranging, laminating, trimming and putting up approximately 800 separate items in the last fortnight, that I don't care if I never see a laminator or papercutter again?

Came home to find that Himself had apparently either made himself some lunch before he left for his gig or had been attacked by a bread wielding psychopath who then proceeded to sprinkle him and the majority of the kitchen with instant soup crumbs, kicking over the cats' crunchie bowls, drinking all the milk, hiding two used teabags in the plughole/underneath the full washing up bowl and using four knives to attempt to slice the bread/Himself up before picking up the blasted bread knife and doing the job properly?

I am changing the bake to soft crust next time. Dark is just too much like a grown up version of leaving a three year old and five open tubes of glitter in a room unattended.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Morning everyone

DW running and wm just finishing. I have a couple of bits of ironing to do then that might be the flying limit.

Flc. DD has taken herself into a downwards spiral, just when she was finally getting her life back on an even keel. I feel incredibly guilty for not stopping the small thing that kicked it off. We are living through lots of tears, and she is withdrawing from all the things she loves, including music and even riding. It's really hard to see when she has dealt with so much.

I'm following you all, just might not be posting for a few days.

(((Hugs))) Fayolle, Frodders and Dancemum. Please don't hold yourself responsible for someone else, Fayolle - you're the one holding it together for them, and you're doing brilliantly.

Every single item in the kitchen has been washed, including the walls, anything that could go through the dishwasher or washing machine has, every drawer and cupboard has been turned out and all the contents inspected. There has been flingage. I've got to finish putting things back and I really should turn out the fridge but it's done. OH did some of it, and washed the floor before he cooked supper after a bit of a reminder that it isn't fair to leave the builders' clearing up to me. The general builder will be back on Monday, I hope, to grout half a dozen tiles, refix a double socket having moved it two inches, and seal around at tiny sink fitting. I didn't need to stick a (surprisingly found) bottle brush down the plughole - the plumber took the sink to bits and did that for me the other day. It was VILE.

The (male) lodger covered himself in glory by offering to help. He really meant it too. There is something very satisfying about meeting people who stay here for a week, or four in his case, who then move on, so we never get to know them well enough to think, 'Hmm. Not so sure about him.' And he pays rent!
    Better is good enough.

I've got mine in a fortnight...kaz, it will be the same.

    Hugs Fayolle

    Been VERY PRODUCTIVE

    have....
ironed two maidensful (think 5 panels) of ironing and stuck it in front of a sunny window to air. Pegged out 3 loads. Shifted carp out of the kitchen, inc recycling
washed hob racks and knobs etc in advance of kitchen cleaning. Emptied DW
Washed car which has been parked under trees clearly being nested in by ostriches judging by quantity of guano.
Cleaned out Benny Bunny. ie dirty jobs involving schlepping in and out of kitchen BEFORE I clean kitchen.

    Just having a :coffee:
