FURIOUS! parking fine recieved when no ticket was issued

They wouldn't, they'd potentially make a judgement in favour of the parking company but they wouldn't fine you. (and in any event boll!!!s they'd make the decision in favour of the parking company anyway)
The problem with these companies is that they actually want you to park on their land and not pay because they know sending a threatening letter will result in half the people paying up the ridiculous amount they request.
What people should really think is "Hold on, i've entered into a contract and failed to pay, the remedy for breach of contract is to put the parties in the position they would have been has the contractual obligations been fulfilled (if still possible) therefore, if parking costs £1.50 and I fail to pay, I breach the contract and the remedy is that I owe £1.50, that is all they are entitled to, it is not lawful to insert a punitive term for breaching the contract like these companies do"
That post wasn't about private parking companies, if you read carefully. I was saying that PPCs issue invoices not fines. And that even councils and the police don't issue fines - they issue penalties. And that penalties from councils and the police WILL go to the Mags court if unpaid and you would be fined for non-payment.
I am fully aware of the process for recovering unpaid invoices from PPCs, as you will see from my previous posts. The Magistrates wouldn't even get involved - it would go to County Court and be heard by a District Judge.0 -

Ah, I do apologise, I'm just so used to people saying "fines" when they are actually talking about invoices from private companies that I'm too quick to try and educate people.
Glad you were able to spot that I thought you were talking about PPC's though.Bought, not Brought0 -
Not identity theft, just a case of computer TWOC'ing.
The theft charge won't stick, if its been given back.
Welcome to retrospective tickets by camera from your local council from this weekend. An injustice, we have had to endure in London for some time now - looks like every vehicle will have to keep a log of who was driving and where, every time it ventures out onto the Queen's highway.
[can I see 4 motorists all rooted to the spot at the entrance to a mini roundabout, all flashing "come on" with their headlights? The first one to move gets the camera ticket for cutting up the one on its right. Like penguins on an ice flow - they jostle up and down until one falls in and gets eaten by the seal, so the rest can jump in and swim away?]
You know its all for your own good and nothing to do with raising revenue.0
