I presume you realise that you need to add £18 to buy Win 10 Home (or apply your own install/licence)?
I'd also suggest upgrading the RAM to 8GB. (Whether £18 from the seller is good value I've no idea, but it's certainly the most convenient).0 -

Don't presume. It's reported that the machines already have a digital entitlement for Windows 10. So just install it yourself at no further cost.
No need for 8GB of RAM, especially with SSD fitted and certainly not for the usage described by the OP.
But you can buy another 4GB module for less.
Another reason to have an alternative to the single Browser on a Chromebook; https://www.tomshardware.com/news/google-chrome-automatic-secret-sign-in,37835.html0 -

Presumably you have insider knowledge to be able to make that statement ... there's nothing on the eBay page to confirm that. Indeed, if it has an entitlement, why would they offer Win 10 as an option?0 -

"Reported"...hopefully you know what that means.... No need for you to be concerned if you aren't interested in getting one for yourself.
Look at it this another way, even if you don't believe me, there is always the option to re-install the original OS and then upgrade to Windows 10 anyway.
So no, I would not be inclined to pay for installation, unless you are unable to install an OS for yourself.

Is "presume" your word for today?0 -
If you really are that interested, you can read more about it here; https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/refurbished-dell-latitude-e7240-ultrabook-180-blackmoreit-ebay-3032109

Hi so if they send it with no OS how would I put one on it?Forgive me for sounding daft but how would I add windows 10 without a disc?I suppose it might be better for me to pay the extra £18 rather than making a !!!! up and getting annoyed0 -

Up to you. It's your money. You just need an empty USB flash drive of at least 8GB.
I would install Windows 10 Pro, so I could more easily block feature updates. One of which is due next month.
You can create the bootable USB installation media using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool; https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
or download it from this link; Win10_1803_EnglishInternational_x64.iso and use Rufus to create bootable USB installation media.
If you decide to do it yourself I'll guide you through it.0 -
Thanks, what do you mean about blocking feature updates,is that a case of just having the option to block some updates that could be troublesome or just that they may be of no benefit0

Chromebooks are ok but you need at least 4gb of ram (the cheapest have 2gb). Besides they do everything you need if you are ok using google products.
I have HP 14inch chromebook and for me it's a perfect backup laptop because I'm an IT guy ;-)0
