Was it a collie - they do tend to snap at heels, trying to round you up? best thing is to stand still and not get all flappy & make a noise. It's one of those things that they can do occasionally. All the advice about phoning the police is really not good as if that happens twice the dog can be destroyed. It's innate for sheep dogs to do this.
It's not okay if snapping involves actual contact (and I'm not convinced non contact snapping is okay either tbh) - that sort of dog needs to be muzzled or leashed when there are others around. I enjoy interacting with dogs*, but that isn't nice for anyone! Nor is jumping up - no one wants muddy pawprints and the last one to do that to me yanked my headphones out. You don't need to have issues with dogs to object to that.
*threw a couple of balls for a cheeky one t'other day that decided to bring them back to me instead of their owner, and very frequently fuss dogs that come for a polite sniff.0 -
You clearly have comprehension issues, amongst others. You made up a load of drivel and have now come out with some more. I quite like dogs, but often not their idiot owners, of which you a clearly one. As per post 12, a good hard kick - to either dog or owner - will usually suffice.
The OP referred to a dog snapping at their heels. You made up some rubbish to try to make out it was their fault and now you are doing the same to me.
Your free advice is not even worth that.
so you havent met my dogs but are free to judge.
if you attempted a good hard kick to either me or my dogs it would be the last time you had any use of your legs thats for sure.
idiots like you are the reason we have a compo culture. the faintest whiff of a non issue and you think you have a million rights and entitlements.
as i clearly stated in my earlier post. My dogs behave perfectly. They do not bark or bite or growl or jump at strangers, but they do approach them, clearly the perfect training they received makes me an idiot.
Yet you, the moron, who's only thought is to jump to assault and abuse is in the right?
oh do move on you cretin, your padded safe space is the only place you should be.0 -
Hide a worming tablet in a dog treat .Hopefully it will work when the owner gets home.0

I Guess you are one of those idiot members of the public who believe all open space is for you and anything you deem not suitable to you is the priority.
i am one of those wonderful dog owners who has 3 of the loveliest dogs around who will walk ~(not run) up to everyone to say hello.
they dont jump, they dont bark, they dont bite yet occasionally some idiot will demand i keep my dogs on the lead at all times because they dont like dogs.
if you are somewhere where dogs are walked, then tough.. if you dont like my dogs fine, they will return to me when called, if you keep walking they will leave you alone.
when you come out of your padded safe space, the rest of the world doesn't have to do as you say. you can have that advice for free.
Good but a lot of dogs don't and it tends to be the owners of dogs which jump up and don't come when called which say ' they are only being friendly'. I'm fine with dogs being walked off the lead I am not fond of them jumping up/ licking me/ barking at me when I'm out for a walk.
I get tired of owners who say they are just being friendly if I wanted a dog I would get one or walk a friends dog.0 -
Dogs should not jump up.
I wonder what the op
Thinks about dog friendly cafes?0 -

If you are saying you've posted on this subject, I had no idea.
missile is the OP, so everything in the thread relates to the question asked in the first place. Although putting you on ignore for your responses seems to be a bit OTT, I didn't see anything particularly troubling in what you wrote.0
