in Credit cards
My husband died suddenly on Tuesday and I'm trying to sort things out. He has a credit card in his name only. Will I be responsible for clearing the debt?
Thank you.
Thank you.

No. It will be paid from his estate, if there are sufficient funds. Are you the executor, or is there someone else who can deal with this side of things?

Sorry for your loss OP.
As zx81 says, any debt will be paid from his estate if available. Funeral costs are first on the list.
We have a 'Death, funerals & probate board' which may help with other questions you have if you are sorting things out on your own.

I'm still waiting for the coroner to contact me about various issues, but for now your replies and advice have been very helpful. Thank-you.0

Sorry for your loss. I dealt recently with my mother in law's death and found the check lists on the gov.uk site really helpful. Try to get someone to help you as its very difficult to deal with emotional and practical side of things at the same time. When people offer support - take them up on their offer as it's usually meant.

Go to the deaths and probable board as well for some good help.0
