Can't remember if was Thomas Cook or Thompson/TUI, but one of them didn't include our transfer as we booked as a late deal.

Can't recall which company, but might explain why the OP didn't get transfer as standard.
  • I'd need to check their online deals, but I think transfers are an extra on Thomas Cook these days.

If the OP lives near a TUI store a visit would be worthwhile to resolve this - you can't beat face to face communication.

On true packages with Thomas Cook and Tui transfers are included for free unless it is America (with TC i don't know about Tui) For America free standard car hire is included for free, transfers can usually be added on for a charge. On this occasion as its a late deal it may be too late.
What we need to know from Katie is :-
Who is the holiday with? Its not necessarily a Tui holiday, just because its booked with Tui.
What destination is she going to?
How far from the airport is it? 10 minutes or 2 hours?
Then we can help properly. Holiday extras arrange transfers quite reasonably so that's a possibility.
    So more info please Katie.

I don't think transfers are still included with Thomas Cook.

Coach transfer is standard and included in every Thomsons/TUI package holiday, or cruise booking, we've ever made over the best part of the last 50 years.

However, a call to TUI customer services, as above, will quickly resolve any anxiety.

Certain TUI holidays do not include a coach transfer and instead include a car. For example some villa holidays and some to Florida.

The OP fails to give destination information and we may never know.

I would guess at Orlando given they say the hotel offers free shuttle busses.

OP - If it is Orland then just Google airport transfers and you will get quite a few options. I can't recommend any as we always drive. If you change your mind and decide to take the car then check out how much you will need to pay in insdurance costs to take it. We always used to find we could hire a car ourselves for around the same price as the insurance on the "free" car.

That's because you didn't ask here first or just ignored the advice.

It's cheaper to buy standalone insurance for the "free car" than to hire one for yourself.

On a Thomas Cook, Airtours, Manos and 18-30 holidays transfers are included for free always, even on late deals, other than America. Florida get a free car, if you want transfers you have to pay for them.
If you book a flexible trips package (which is part of TC) you have to pay for transfers if you want them. As for other operators ie Olympic, Superbreaks, Tui etc it depends on what they offer as to whether they're free or not.

I did a dummy booking online this morning for a package deal hotel stay in the Balerics, flying from Any Scotland next week - the very first hit had no included transfers, these were an optional extra.

Tried again a few minutes ago, from Gatwick, on a different date, the last day of month, and all the first batch of offers had transfers included.

So, obviously it varies, however it's clear on what criteria that governs these differences.
