Afternoon all ... too busy to post properly today but all the dailies are done, WM done with quilt cover & pillowcases (can't cope with more than that in at once so sheets will go in with DD's blouses/socks later on a boil wash), towels put it as it was lovely here this morning but blowing a gale - now it's wet and blowing a gale  Fire on trying to get quilt dry while I compute and do us a money make over  Once I've seen if I can cut costs anywhere I will be off to find ways to raise money but ebay/amazon are out as we've sold everything we can  Maybe it's time I started taking in ironing  RIght, off to look at gas & elec prices...just added up we spent £650 last year (october to october) on elect ALONE  Then another £371 on gas

OMG that made me look up our figures - £969 on electricity and £804 on gas which is diabolical. We have gas CH + 1 gas fire (rarely on) and cook by electric. There's only 4 of us so how can we use so much  .

And I still havent done anything constructive today - cant remember who said take it easy - certainly done that :D

Right gonna come back in an hour and update on what I've done but having coffe and cake first
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Well I don't think I did as well as you Shell.

Put all DS's clothes away and sorted them all out.
1 bag sorted to go to nephew.
Finished stripping DS's bed and put it in the washer.
    Ordered new remote from Virgin.

Doesn't sound a lot but did sort through all of his drawers to get rid of what's getting too small for him so that's what took the time!

Right, I have a question for the cooks amongst you:

I've bought a turkey drumstick to make into soup. Do I cook it first then boil it or just boil it? Can you tell I've never made soup like this before - I just normally just do vegetable soup. Any more tips on how to make it will be greatly appreciated.

Well i have only been awake for 20 mins but feel like I have been awake all night. DS and DD decided to take turns in who would keep mummy up :D

Join the club - I think that's why DS ended up wetting the bed - he has a drink by the side of my bed for the morning which he drunk at 4.30 then went into a really deep sleep and wet himself! DD was coughing for most of the night and awake for 2 hours solid so she'll be fun tonight!

  • Hi again

Had a productive morning!! Just stopped for lunch then back to it after.
    So far I've done:-

Wacky Wednesday - those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Vacuum the floor[/STRIKE]

    Level Two
[STRIKE]Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!![/STRIKE]

    Level Three
[STRIKE]Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen ..
    [/STRIKE]

    Extra Task List
    • [STRIKE]
    • Washed throw
    • Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames!
    • [/STRIKE]

    Freaky Friday- Bathroom
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clean floors in these rooms[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Clean baths, toilets and sinks[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe down tiles in bathroom.. [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required
    [/STRIKE]

    Extra mission:
Pick whichever you want to attempt:
    • [STRIKE]Wipe the skirtings, door and window frames in these rooms [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]clean the radiators and woodwork in these rooms [/STRIKE]
Then its my room this afternoon, already stripped bed and sheets in wash. DS sheets out on line.

I love this thread, I think i'm going to carry on with it when I return to work so I don't have to do all my cleaning in one go at the weekend and I can have some "me time" instead when DS is with his dad. :D

    See you all later

Am back with little one and she is showing no signs of wanting a nap. Just put DD1 bedding on fast spin and will then peg it out (with lots of pegs as very blowey out there).

Littley wants to do painting so may set that up for her and the ironing board at the same time so I can crack on with some of that. Cuppa first and maybe a sandwich. I also need to pop to the post office and building society so must leave here to collect DD1 at 2.45.

Did I mention I hate ironing?? but it was so nice having an empty basket for that 1 day:rolleyes: .

Being very MSE and selling some stuff on ebay, but some people really infuriate me!!
I listed a set of 3 Le Creuset pots at £65, they are in pretty much brand new condition. I have used them twice tops and one even still has the label on it!
Anyway, this guy bought them and came round to collect them, he said he thought i'd said there were no chips on them?? He managed to find a TINY manufacturing flaw that i hadnt even noticed, couldnt possibly be classed as a chip!
He said he didnt want them because of this:mad:
Then phoned me about an hour later and says he'll take them for £50, a £15 discount for a minute flaw.
If he wanted a set of brand new never used pots he should go on amazon and pay the full £150 price tag and stop wasting my time!!
    Sorry rant over:D

Some people are bonkers (no MOST people are bonkers). Ebay still amuses me, the amount of people that pay more for things than you can buy them in the shops never ceases to amaze me.

Hope your next buyer is from the real world.

Lunch eaten so off to the ironing board.
