    You haven't exchanged contracts yet but you want the house clear now?
    I think by "won't clear the house", the OP means the vendor is saying they now have no intention of clearing it at all. OP seems to have disappeared though, which I hope means they've sorted it out.

    Unfortunately, it usually means they haven't got the answer they wanted to hear, so have gone off in a sulk...

    Yet another situation where matters are resolved upfront in a Scottish sale; typical standard clause, which would be agreed to when offer is accepted;

    "1.4 The Seller undertakes to remove all moveables from the Property not otherwise included in the Price as at the Date of Settlement."

    Yes it's in the England contract too ... It's a question of what to do if it isn't carried out.

    To be fair, in this case it seems that it was agreed upfront - but the seller has changed their mind. Which an awkward b*gger in Scotland could do as well before missives are concluded.

    Or afterwards.

    Maybe the guy does not want to sell. Maybe he is having second thoughts or, if he has to sell, is in denial. I think YoungBlueEyes may have the right of it; you have not yet exchanged and, from your vendor's point of view, are probably being as much of a pita as you consider him to be.

    Worst case scenario, barring your losing the house, is the beer and pizza gig. Worse things happen at sea; you can't get pizza delivered, for one thing... Unless drones do it? How much :beer: can they carry?

    Not sure if it counts as "at sea", but when I was on holiday in the south of France last year, I did see a pizza yacht cruising around and delivering pizzas to all the rich people's superyachts. If I remember correctly, it looked like the pizza yacht cooked the pizza and they had a small boat to actually make deliveries.
  • AndyTails that's brilliant! Talk about "nicer problems to have" :D

    Good business idea too, I hope they make squillions :T
    Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.

    Well, yes, but at least you'd have a contractual remedy then.
