    Good Morning from Mehefinland

Hugs and spoons to those in need especially Holly and the TAs.

Holly its rotten news and my heart goes out to you. Mrs m went through this twice 15yrs apart so I do appreciate what you are going through.

Nelski I don't post a lot but read loads. So The judge will let you off this time:beer:

Had to smile at 'truculent teenagers'. made me think of the troublesome trucks in Thomas the Tank engine stories:rotfl:

Well after much faffing finally got Mehefinmare shod on Saturday. She has special shoes and on Tuesday they hadn't arrived even though ordered the previous week On Friday they had sent the wrong ones, so my farrier met the suppliers delivery lorry on the M4 and finally got the right ones. Much huffing, puffing and wicked words later said mare now has a nice brand new pair of shoes on her front feet. Backs being done Thursday!

Right offski to muck out ( oh Joy!) and load up the trailer to take some of the good stuff to the local allotments.
What was that about dull lives and mundacity ;)

Holly, I am so sorry about your news, I hope your appointment is soon and I shall be keeping everything crossed (I don't do prayers) that it hasn't spread to the lymph nodes.

TA, you could have done without that but at least the dr was checking. Contrary to some on the thread I hope he or she doesn't get a rocket in case it makes them think twice about ringing someone else where the concern could be very real, if they had been right you would have been very thankful that they had rung.

We're off to Ramsgate today for a week of walking and cycling. We're hoping to go from Faversham to Dover, active one day then resting the next. We shall see how we get on as some of the stages are a bit n the long side for me, hopefully I won't be knocked out completely. Steve has been working out routes and has planned from Dover to Eastbourne as well but that will be other trips. We want to walk as much of the coast as we can, living so far from the sea makes me crave the sight of it, I love it.

Ziggy went home last night, Laura and I are a bit worried about her because she is losing bits of fur and has a thin patch on her back.

It’s lovely and sunny down here, I’m about 3 miles from Margate. Deal is lovely for cycling, nice and flat! Nice pub at Kingsdown called The Zetland Arms . Hope you enjoy lovely Kent

  • So sorry Holly. As you know I have non operable breast cancer so can understand your fear. You are going through a very scary time. I had a breakdown after my husband died and was about to be discharged from the community mental health team when my diagnosis happened. The team have been so supportive of me and I do hope you will get help too.

Sister in Law arrives late morning but first I have the joy of a blood test to make sure I am fit enough for the next batch of chemo pills. Hospital tomorrow.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Holly - I am sorry sorry to hear your news, you have enough to cope with, I do hope that the treatment will have a positive effect, you really could have done without this. Prayers.

TA's what a balls up....I have always said that Drs do not read notes properly, just the last entry, its happened to us more than once. The whole thing was unnecessary. I am pleased you are getting help.

The usual CA appeared this morning, so we have not been switched over yet, its 5 weeks on Thursday since OH started with the care, so we are still inside the limit.

Its a grey day, I have stripped the bed and the sheets are in the washer, I will use the dryer if it does not clear up. Cannot do with wet sheets hanging about.

Lamb yesterday was very good, enough for a roast dinner again tonight and also possibly for meat to put in the freezer, either for a meal or sandwiches. We have 'proper coffee' in the mornings, I clean out the coffee maker and recharge it ready for the next morning, went to fill the coffee tin......no bag of coffee, so OH will have to make do with instant on Wednesday. He has to go and take his denture in to get it altered, so will go to Aldi then.

My back is so so.......if I stand for any length of time it tells me its not happy, have another week of the steroids to go, will see how it is then.

So lamb roast for supper, peeling apples to do a crumble.

Carolbee, we love Kent, we spent several extended family holidays there when the children were little. There is so much to do, especially if you are into history which we are.

Bellabella, it's difficult to understand some people, they must have such sad little lives and being horrible to others can't possibly enrich your own life.
  • Good morning all, and Mrs TA was an awful weekend for you both ,you really don't need extra problems and worries.xx

H/H be strong honey I know exactly how you feel and here I am 11 years later still wittering on .The treatment today is advancing by leaps and bounds everyday so take everything they offer with a smile and a thank you ,some of it will be uncomfortable and the chemo side effects can be nasty but you will come through hopefully a stronger person

The Nursing staff in my local Medway Maritime Hospital were fantastic and are specialist nurses who are trained to help and will answer any questions no matter how daft they seem.

I have nothing but praise for all the amazing folk who saved my life 11 years ago I too had no symptoms, lumps, pain or anything, and was totally gobsmacked to be told the diagnosis from a regular mammogram.

But things moved swiftly and although it was a very scary time and having lost my husband a couple of years before it seemed as though someone up there really was testing me. But you will get through it, and become an even stronger person than you are today

My thoughts are with you and anyone who is going through their treatment at the moment I met some lovely people when attending the hospital and we developed quite a 'black humour' about things When I was having three tattoos done to show where the r/therapy had to be positioned I asked the chap if he could whizz up a thumbs up at the same time :):) or an even ruder victory V sign to the big C::)

Now in the mornings when I get up I see this old woman with a lop-sided body and a larger than normal right arm (I developed Lymphedema afterwards as I had a large majority of my lymph nodes removed as well as my right breast)But the main thing is I do wake up and get up ,not as fast as I used to, but every day is a bonus to me, and I have been so lucky to see my grandkids grow up and the birth of my first great grandchild .

Back then I was convinced I wouldn't finish my library book :) But a positive attitude and a sense of humour helps no end.

OK so I lost my hair for awhile ,but think what I saved on hairdressers and shampoo :) and it does come back and very quickly as well I have to have my thick mop trimmed every six weeks as it grows like the very devil.

When I go swimming I tend to swim in small circles instead of a straight line as one arm doesn't work quite so well but its not important I am never going for the olympics anyway :)

But each day you get a little better and you find a great deal of happiness inthe smaller triumphs in life.

One thing you do lose is worrying about things like bills, or stressing about insignificant things. I am a different person now having gone through all of that I am certainly more relaxed and laid back than I used to be and I certainly appreciate the things that before I didn't notice ,like a sunny day or the smell of rain and watching the sun rise is brilliant We are all here for you on your journey

Back then I had a lovely natter with a lady who sadly is no longer on the forum Moneysaving Diva, at about three in the morning when I had been feeling a bit rough after one of my chemo bouts ,she was very kind and we nattered about all sorts of things and she cheered me up no end

Life is good ,at the moment very scary for you, but make the most of every day and find a thing if you can that make you feel brighter when you get up,even if it's only a walk in the park and watching the leaves falling I wish you well and will mention you in my nightly chats with the Big Guy xxx

Yesterday we took DGS Jack to Uni and got him settled in and he sent me a lovely text to say thank you for helping him and he had been out to a 'meet the students' event in the evening and he loved it.

Today I have a mound of ironing to catch up with and a good 'bottoming out' of my house as its in dire need of one

Carolbee indeed the Zetland arms is a lovely pub and right on the beach ,do really good food as well I have eaten in there several times as my DD has a caravan on a private site in Deal.

Hope everyone has a good week and those who need one have a <<hug >>

    Cheers chums
