  • OLLIBEAK you are confusing me with LAMEWOLF, it was she who posted about medication! As Mr TA's medication is changing all the time pre dispensed trays are not much use to me. I have my own tablets in little daily boxes but Mr TA's are listed much like LW's so I don't forget anything and the cupboards resemble Boots Pharmacy! x

    Morning

(((Holly )))my friend.. brave is an understatement but very very true. I am sure you wont mind me saying that if your recently discovered cancer was the only thing you were going through then it would be devastating news for most of us but you are are dealing with this on top of so much else. Its a cruel world sometimes. I am so pleased you have shared with our friends though as I know the power of their hugs/vibes/prayers is huge. Certainly puts any of my whingy posts into perspective.

TAIm so sorry you had to go through this this weekend and hopefully the doctor will be getting a dressing down from the consultant. Glad your getting some support now you really deserve it just wish we could whizz you away for a couple of hours respite ...maybe lunch in your favourite Skipton pub with an obligatory wine but I know you wouldn't go. Try to take care though he needs the strong healthy woman you are.

Its actually a bit foggy this morning, at first I was berating myself for filthy windows then realised it was outside too. Good job cos those windows are staying as they are.
Working today then its book club this evening. Looking forward to seeing everyone although as usual I will need to confess to not finishing the book. (whats new eh)
Caught up with Killing Eve and Bodyguard last night ...I love all the great series that start in autumn.

Wont need any tea tonight but I do have a salmon and cream cheese bagel left so will take that out for some brunch (read ..eaten by 9am :D)

Hope you have as good a day as possible

    Morning,

So sorry to read your news Hollyharvey, sending virtual hugs and if you ever want a chat please pm me .

Sorry to read about Mr TA.

I was not posting last week either, due to my DM having another fall 2nd one in two weeks. She has been to hospital no broken bones, but she has arthritis in her knees, which means she cannot walk far now. Stopped medicine as this was making her drowsy. Appt at hosp next week.

I had a quiet weekend thankfully.

    Morning all,

Sorry to hear your news Holly but it sounds as if your consultant is listening to you and taking your wishes into consideration. That in itself seems to be a rarity these days.

Sorry also that the TA's were hauled out of a comparatively restful time at home for nothing in particular. A few well thought out questions from the doctor during the first phone call could have made so much difference.

A quiet day is planned here. Some knitting because I am making my best friend a scarf in irish moss stitch and cable (fairly easy) as one of his christmas presents and want it finished in plenty of time, and then making a roast dinner for our evening meal as we didn't have it last night. The HT decided on left over pizza instead so I finished off the Thai dipping balls that were still in the fridge. I must buy some milk after I've dropped the HT at school too.

I have fat class tomorrow so after that I think I need to make an effort to lose some more weight. I've been slacking the last couple of weeks as luckily - due to previously mentioned events - I'd booked a couple of weeks off due to my sister visiting (I booked 2 weeks as I couldn't remember the exact date) so I didn't have to concentrate on food/healthy eating and was able to go with the flow and eat whatever turned up (which on one particularly memorable day happened to be Maccies for lunch and KFC for tea, yuk). I was coughing all day yesterday so I thought I'd caught the HT's [STRIKE]cold[/STRIKE] manflu, but thanks to the "Vick on the feet and socks on" trick I seem to be OK today (yay).

Dumpling I hope you enjoy your sugarcraft tomorrow. I'm not very creative or artistic so I try to keep decorating to a minimum but I made a cake at the end of July and decorated it to look like a present with a bow. I like watching the online tutorials on youtube.

Redruby Ouch - I hope you get seen and helped today.

Take care all of you :)

I have just skimmed through posts and will be back later, hospital visit today, but did not want to just read and run.

Holly - so sorry about your news, it must have been an awful bombshell.

TA - what an awful time you nad Mr TA have had.

Sending healing hugs and caring thoughts to you both and to all that need some.

  • Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly, I'm so sorry to hear your news.
Hugs to anyone in need especially Mr & Mrs TA.

I was hoping to do some sewing today, I have a top with a tear in it, come chiffon to turn into treasure bags, some net to turn into a tutu and some muslin to make hop pillows. Unfortunately the boat is listing badly and I think the machine might topple off the table. 17 boats went past yesterday and so the lock was emptied 17 times and so the water level is low.

I shall do some cooking, I have some leftover chicken and a couple of leeks so I'll make a chicken and leek pie and some leek and potato soup I also need to shake my gin and vodka and finish off the elderberry cordial.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

    Morning everyone,
Holly you are a very brave lady and with your family’s support will tackle this new challenge head on, much love and positive thoughts winging their way to you x
Oh TA what a unnecessary trauma for you all to go through but I guess the duty doctor was doing what he thought best, as always my thoughts are with you all x

Cloudy here but very mild and set to get a lot warmer over the next few days, we are going to take advantage of the warm, sunny weather and head to the coast tomorrow with Tilly. We had such a lovely time a couple of weeks ago and need to soak up the Vit D while we can.
Today will be work, chores and time spent with Lu this afternoon.

Have a good day folks x

Holly, I am so sorry about your news, I hope your appointment is soon and I shall be keeping everything crossed (I don't do prayers) that it hasn't spread to the lymph nodes.

TA, you could have done without that but at least the dr was checking. Contrary to some on the thread I hope he or she doesn't get a rocket in case it makes them think twice about ringing someone else where the concern could be very real, if they had been right you would have been very thankful that they had rung.

We're off to Ramsgate today for a week of walking and cycling. We're hoping to go from Faversham to Dover, active one day then resting the next. We shall see how we get on as some of the stages are a bit n the long side for me, hopefully I won't be knocked out completely. Steve has been working out routes and has planned from Dover to Eastbourne as well but that will be other trips. We want to walk as much of the coast as we can, living so far from the sea makes me crave the sight of it, I love it.

Ziggy went home last night, Laura and I are a bit worried about her because she is losing bits of fur and has a thin patch on her back.
