Hello everybody,
Very tired this morning. Benny (our dog) has a flea allergy. He doesn't have fleas but one must have bit him last week. His scratching and carrying on during the night was terrible the poor thing. He's chewed tufts of hair from his tail and the tip. I'll ring the vet up this morning. I've had nothing to put on it over the weekend.DGS & XDIL are asleep downstairs so I don't like to go into the kitchen in case I wake them up. I've changed my routine now, am having internet time before brekky.
Pink Make sure you go to the doctor's. Doesn't sound good. I knew somewhere along the line it was Twink's fault.
thisisit We have Aldi's here but I find they don't stock everything. I hate having to do two shops. They are comparable here.
Off for a surf. Hope you have a good nights sleep. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hello All. Busy w/e - went to visit Mum yesterday and stayed night at my brothers. Youngest sis and BL there too. Feeling my age - curry at 10.30pm is def. no longer my thing! Still it was good to catch up with them all. Drove back in good time today - M25 behaving itself, clockwise at least. DH cooked beef for a late lunch, I walked the dogs and then did some washing before the inevitable school paperwork. Also made bread.
Our younger border collie is a quivering wreck, squeezed behind DH's chair. Older one takes no notice of fireworks and can't understand what the fuss is about.
Good to hear Jackie O and PenPin doing well - hope it continues! (((HUGS))) to all who'd like one.Resolution:

Not long back from a lovely day with DD, SIL and the boys. As predicted DGS3 has changed yet again. When he woke up from his snooze out in the garden I went to pick him up and was greeted with the most beautiful toothless grin! I had tears in my eye. I feel I haven't seen as much of him in his early weeks as I did with the other two.
DD cooked a lovely dinner and I must say it was a delight not to be caught up in the weekend road works on the Bridge.
Had a walk to the local Dobbies and picked up another couple of Christmas pressies. Also bought another robin tree decoration (actually a box of 4!!!!!!) as I have a wee thing about putting a robin on the Christmas tree for close family (we currently have one each for DS and DD and now one for each grandchild). Had to make sure I had one ready for DGS3!
Have had a quick look at the thread.
Pink - please go back to the doctor as you must be careful this doesn't develop into pleurisy. Congrats on your number of posts!
PenPin - glad to hear you are a bit brighter today.
Scuzz - try and move on. You deserve better than this. Your Prince Charming is out there, I am sure!
MeanM - you are having a busy time. Will pm you soon! Your neck of the woods next weekend!
CrazyC - will pm you too re cards!
JackieO - I am so pleased to read how positive you are just now. Keep up the good work but please don't overdo things.
Aussie - hope your wee dog isn't too distressed. Would a cool bath help the itch and fur pulling?
Hope everyone else's pets OK - loads of fireworks tonight everywhere.
Love and hugs to the rest of you. Sorry if I haven't mentioned you but I do love reading about what is going on in your lives.
Take care

Hello everyone, and especially hello to our poor Pink-Winged. That chest infection sounds absolutely dreadful dearie...get your Pink self to the doctor's please!! When I had a chest infection I found it comforting to lie down on my back with a hot water bottle underneath my lung area. Maybe this will help until the drugs kick in...?
Scuzz...you gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. Please don't get hung up on this one, there are very very few men around who are worth a single tear. Get yourself all glammed up and hit the town with a female friend or two and let yourself be chatted up a few times. BTW I have been through the whole home-buying three times now...it is always so damn slow. Nobody ever give updates to the person who is paying the money out (ironic really!) so you end up having to chase your solicitor, estate agent, bank etc etc just for the littlest scrap of news. Keep plodding on with the purchase, you'll get there, it just takes time.
Now for the drivel...........
I was off to my parents for the afternoon, gosh how interesting. LOL it's over an hour's drive away, so the upshot is that I don't usually achieve much on the days I visit them. Of course, the fact that I have been internerding for about four solid hours is totally unrelated to the state of my house and so it's my parents' fault really that my house looks like a bombsite.
Houseworky stuff I have achieved is a few loads of washing done, a bit of tidying in the kitchen, filled the dishwasher.. Errr, ummm, oh alright I've done bog all this weekend, happy now??:rotfl::rolleyes:
I got a good book from the library...the biography of Fanny Cradock. What a woman! Not that I would want to be like her - she had some very very hard times and could dissolve an army with her acid tongue. It's inspriational that she got anywhere in life considering the post-war times she lived in and her dire starting point (unwanted by her parents, married young just to become a 19 year old penniless widow, with a child born after her husband died). It's getting me wondering...what the hell am I doing with my life??? I work in a supermarket, and while I'm grateful for the job and glad of the income, I hope that there is more purpose to my life than that. But what??? Anybody out there good at fortune-telling??? Or !!!! kicking????
That's it for now, see you all tomorrow.
