Glad to hear Pen Pin & JackieO are both feeling better.
Scuzz have you ever read a book called 'He's just not that into you' It's definately worth a read, I can't remember the author, but will look it up for you if you want. I'm afraid with men 'treat em mean, keep em keen' seems to be the best advice, I gave the same advice to my tearful lodger yesterday, she seems to be having boyfriend problems. when he phoned up for her yesterday he couldn't even remember her name!
Nothing much going on here, went to buy a kettle earlier as ours had stopped working, £4.50 from Tesco.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester
That book certainly sounds an interesting read, so yes pleaseComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Afternoon All
Just a quick one before I get the sewing machine out. DH managed to split his pant yesterday so I need to repair them. While its out I'll do the rest of the mending in the basket.
Had a good day yesterday and managed to get the house really clean without DD to distract me. Been to Aldi this morning and a lady complemented me on DD knowing her veg. Bit confused by that but she told me that shes a dinner lady and some children dont even know what potatoes are because they always have potato waffles etc.
Off to the in-laws for a bonfire tonight so I've made some Parkin to take with us. Hope dd is not to scared of the fireworks
have a good afternoon everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Afternoon all,
The pc to myself again....hurray!! Between the cousin from OZ and DD4 I have had very little time here over the last few days...unless I wanted to stay up all night, which I can no longer do!
JackieO....glad that you are coming back to yourself, every day helps.
PenPin....You sound so much brighter than you have for ages, great to see!
Sez....very kind son....DS2 had banned me ( and my umbrella)from the sideline long before he was 23!
Following the visit of the cousin from Oz, I have very much got the family history bee in my bonnet, so anticipate much searching over the next few weeks, we are getting quite a bit of knowledge together, cousin has done one branch of the Australian contingent...his own, and is now moving to his grandmother's aunts and uncles, who went to Oz in mid 1800s...don't envy him his task although one lot of them settled in Brisbane so he's not far away from them.
Very pleased with a clementine cake I made yesterday from a Nigella recipe...4/5 large fruit, boiled for 2 hours, blitzed in processor, 250g ground almonds, 150g caster sugar heaped teaspoon baking powder and 4 large eggs added, quick blitz, into 20cm tin, base lined and greased, into 180c oven for an hour, cool in tin. Serve as it is, although I suppose you could have cream but I don't think it needs it.
DD4 cooking dinner so going to knit for most of pm, friend of hers from school here and DN2 just arrived as well, so we shall be 6 for dinner.
Hugs to all who are feeling unwell or upset, and congratulations to all who are celebrating.
Hopefully business as usual to-morrow

Afternoon all,
A bit nippy here today, so I've just stuck the heating on for an hour.
We went to Silver Wedding party last night and as I stuck to coffee or water, I have felt quite with it today..makes a change....
I went and booked a pitch at the indoor car boot for next Sunday, so now I've all week to sort out my junk...sorry pre-owned treasure.... and get it priced.
I was amazed today at how many stalls there were with no price guides on at all, I know folk are going to haggle but I do feel that if there is a starting price it's half the battle, personally I hate it when you ask a price and they look you up and down before plucking an amount out of thin air.
Put some lamb chops into the oven for tea and I think an hours ironing is called for...although I do want to get on with my scarf.
Mr Twit is meant to be working in Darlington for a few days this next week, so I'd better do him an overnight bag just in case they decide to stay over, although knowing him he will return home at about 10pm and then want to be again by 5 the next morning....it would be so much easier if he stayed away, but if I suggest it, it sounds as though I want rid of him.Oh bliss, just me and the cat snuggled up in bed.
Good to hear both Pen-Pin and Jackie-O are feeling a little better....long may it continue ladies.
Pink, I hope you get your infection cleared properly.
Aussie, I'm sure you can concoct some kind of fly repellant using lettuce.
Hugs to any poorly ones, or OH's with man-flu.
I'm still sniggering about the poster who has managed to spice up his manhood with chilli.
Before I go, does anyone else think that 'Our Glorious Leader' :money: looks as though he is auditioning for Village People.
(sorry Martin, love you really)

whatatwit - I'm glad I wasn't the first person to say it, but I agree!
Well, OH has gone to Salisbury to deliver some car parts. I am bored and lonely. And its cold, and I can't light the fire - just tried, but we haven't any kindling and the axe is too heavy for me
Made a banana bread last night from 39p bananas and it has gone already :)Nigellas recipe

Afternoon everyone, took dd1 shopping shes actually tried aldi and lidl after refusing to go anywhere except morrisons and only
buyng branded stuff but the prices have gone up so much she was spending a small fortune in there so yesterday she tried adli and saved £30 on what she normally spends and has 2 full cupbaords and a full fridge and freezer and has'nt stopped raving about it since lol so today she went to get a few bits from lidl shes also started to cook from scratch think spending time at our house is starting to rub off lol she was even asking about my star drops that was in the window lol.
Oh is in the kitchen slicing 2 carrier bags of oinoins and one of carrots for the freezer hes using tan eletric slicer . plus it gives me a chance to nick the pc off him for a bit.
Hugs to everyone who needs one net x x x0 -

well it was like world war here last night with all the fireworks going off. We are lucky the dog doesnt really bat an eyelid at them. i took him out for a walk last night in the midst of it (the cat came too ~ which is comical to see us all out heading up to the field)
OH took me to the poundshop earlier for some bits then we went to fill up the car at MR T's to use 5p off voucher. took my photocopy (thats what the driver gave me when the shopping was delivered )to the till after putting £37 worth of fuel in and they rejected it! god i felt a wally.they sent me to customer services to see what to do. the girl there was useless and said she didnt know what to do but i was the 4th person to have the same problemWHAT?
So after her giving me head offices number, which i rang they told me the store should have dealt with it and they will ring me back tomorrow.  im not usually a complainer, but its almost £2. and £2 is £2 better in my pocket than theirs. phew rant over...
