  • Hi guys/gals. Having a spring clean of the above phone, which overall I'm very pleased win.

Successfully changed ringtone for individual groups, I.e friends/gf/other calls.

However.....SMS just vibrates twice....can't get ANY notification sound???!! Tried all You Tube videos, forums, answers on Google, etc, force closed it...…no joy. Any new apps installed today have been uninstalled (come to think about it had no notification noise for a few DSS). Don't really want to do a full factory reset....any ideas kind people???

I have the same issue, if you listen very carefully you will hear a very faint single beep for message sent. i have contacted MOTOROLA support reset phone and carried out all actions as requested, now they want me to send phone to them for repair with no guarantee of fix. I have a new MOTO G6 15 days old and it is a software issue with no solution there are lots of posts on other forums with the same issue, review sites for this phone do net mention outgoing message issue. I have tried other message apps no change, using Whatsapp still the same.

  • I have a G6 and was getting no sound either. As a result of this thread, I checked and found that as a default 'Medium, no sound' was set. Changed it to 'Urgent' and also switched on a setting to override 'Do not disturb'.

So we'll see if that solves it, but thanks for the suggestions in this thread.
    David.
