No SMS sound on Moto G6 play..help!

No messenger at all.
are you sure? I thought the standard SMS App on the Moto's is called 'android messenges' by google?

Morning! Just says under apps in settings 'messages' version 3.4048, app installed by play store.0

go into the SMS App settings and make sure all notifications are ON0

Only got 2 important messages with phone numbers I need, maybe I delete messenger & install android messenger from play store? Drastic but do you guys/gals think it'd work?0

That sounds like the stock Google Messages app although mine is on 3.5.053
If it is the stock one you won't be able to uninstall it, have you tried updating by the way?0 -

Either go back and remove the individual rings or install another SMS app like Simplytext

Hi people.....FIXED! App called pulse...no adverts but in app purchases (the sort of features paid for I'm not interested in at my ripe old age lol!)......pulled in old messages so nothing lost.
Thanks SO much for your assistance... Hope you don't think I've wasted your time with finding this myself & installing it. Again, THANKS!0 -
