Or come to that, the poster of a tennis player scratching her Raaas...?

More seriously, and returning to the OP, I did a "beige walls, de-clutter and strategically placed flowers" dressing when selling a refurbed cottage, bought as a wreck a couple of doors from where we lived in the late 20th Century. Before the days of property !!!!!! TV progs, but it just seemed a good idea...
The buyer became a friend, and when the TV programmes began to extol the virtues of this approach to helping a sale, she cornered me accusingly and said "You did that!" as if I'd spoofed her with a couple of cans of Magnolia and some IKEA blinds!0 -
I've viewed a couple with 'Wish Jars' in them....no, me neither..
Apparently you drop a 'wish' into a jar, seen them for around 5 quid.
To me, its just a jam jar with a bit of string wrapped round with a label hanging off.
Tacky as f... (to be continued)0 -

I must say, in the past 2 years of searching, the sheer variety of things I'd get rid of sharpish amazes me. I have realised how intolerant I am.
Not keen on shiny kitchens either, partly because I just dislike them and partly because they'd not remain very shiny with me and mine. And I don't much like the current fashion of using public lavatory tiles in houses.
I don't like shiny kitchens either, or white kitchens of any finish for that matter. I actually don't mind feature wall, they're certainly preferable to magnolia on every wall. Not sure what you mean by public lavatory tiles, how are they different to normal tiles?I've viewed a couple with 'Wish Jars' in them....no, me neither..

I have seen them in shops but assumed the target audience was girls aged between 6 and 12.0 -
I love the three witches, Greebo turning human still has me wishing I'd bought some Tena lady....
My decorating choices are suspect - shortly to be glue gunning small japanese thingies to porch walls for example - but people who practice shabby chic are much more suspect; painitng things badly and them sanding them down equally badly deserves a very harsh word....
Someone mentioned the 50s classic of 3 ducks on a wall earlier. There is actually a discworld equivalent:]
...and no we don't own a set although will admit to having been tempted0 -

I hope they remembered the hot drinks.
ETA: Damn, that's a good read: "When shall we three meet again?" "Well, I can't do Tuesday..."0 -
I love them...see what I mean about bad decor choices? Although in my defence, they are my partners little japanese doll thingies and they keep falling off the frames they usually sit on, I'm fed up of picking them up, there's no way they're coming into the house because that means dusting, so they can stay in the porch and not fall off.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

These are the subway tiles... the one that are uniformly rectangular. Really silly in small bathrooms where they currently seem to be the rage, as larger tiles would make the space look bigger generally speaking. The house I am buying has been beautifully renovated through out and everything is pretty much exactly how I would like it. With the exception of the use of subway tiles, but frankly I don't oppose them enough to change them.
I generally prefer neutral with personality and personalisation that is unique. Some colour, things that aren't fast fashion or disposable. I feel you can add a lot of personality with good lighting and soft furnishings, rather than buying pointless stuff for a #shelfie. Instagram has a lot to answer for.0 -

Ah okay I have seen those in houses before, I actually quite like them although I do see your point that they may not be the best choice for a particularly small bathroom.0 -

SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0
